Thursday 2 April is World Autism Day. We join families and communities worldwide in recognising the dignity of all autistic people and advocate for inclusive environments.

🧬 Did you know the WRI Biobank is proud to support the Australian Autism Biobank, Australia’s largest and most comprehensive collection of biological samples and data from autistic children and their families?

With over 25,000 biospecimens stored and more than 1,000 samples distributed to researchers in the past year, this national resource is driving high-impact studies into diet, gut health, sleep, chronic stress, and more.

The Biobank, facilitated in partnership with Autism CRC, is helping advance our understanding of how biological and environmental factors influence the health and well-being of people with autism, while driving research that directly supports autism.

Help shape the future of inclusive education for autistic students!

We’ve heard from nearly 800 autistic people and people who support autistic students – thank you! We’ve also reviewed 500 research papers. Together, this information has been used to develop the draft National Guidance for best practice in inclusive education for autistic students (National Guidance).

We now invite your feedback on this document.

The National Guidance applies to autistic students in mainstream pre-schools, kindergartens, and schools. So, if you’re a teacher, school leader, parent, allied health professional, autistic adult with experience in Australian education, we want to hear from you! We also invite organisations that support autistic people or inclusive education to provide feedback.

✅ Complete a short anonymous survey (20-30 minutes)

🧠 Share your insights to help shape national practice.
