Saturday 13 - Sunday 14 June

Ready to kickstart your outdoor adventure journey?
“Way to Go 1” is the first of three progressive training weekends designed to take you from backyard camper to confident trekker!

Over this action-packed weekend, you’ll learn the fundamentals of self-sufficient hiking and overnight camping while building confidence in the outdoors.

📍 Saturday Morning – Labrador Guide Hut learn the essentials:

🎒 Packing your rucksack
⛺ Tent pitching
🍳 Lightweight cooking
🧭 Navigation & map reading basics

📍 Saturday Afternoon – Springbrook National Park
Put your new skills into practice with a hike from Apple Tree Park to Woonoogoora Walkers Campsite, where you’ll set up camp for an overnight adventure under the stars ✨

📍 Sunday Morning
Hike back to wrap up the weekend.

At Mary Valley Girl Guides, the safety and wellbeing of our youth members always comes first. Providing opportunities like this helps ensure our leaders remain confident, capable and well-trained, while also empowering our youth members with valuable knowledge and practical life skills.
