📣 WHAT’S ON THIS WEEK AT HUON VALLEY PCYC!

We’ve got another busy week ahead at the PCYC with plenty happening across the centre! 🙌

💙 Youth Drop-In Centre – back again Monday & Wednesday from 3:00–5:00pm! Come along for free food, activities, games and a place to hang out.

☕ Parents & Carers Club – Tuesday from 10:30am–12:30pm. Come along for a cuppa, something to eat and a relaxed catch-up with other local parents and carers.

💪 Powerforce – continuing this Thursday, supporting young people to build confidence in the gym, learn new skills and get active!

🏓 Plus, we have plenty more happening throughout the week including Pickleball, Boxing, Line Dancing, Futsal, Tai Chi, Gymnastics and more!

💚 Exciting News for Huon Valley PCYC! 💚

We're incredibly proud to announce that Huon Valley PCYC has been selected as a 2026/27 MyState Foundation Grant Recipient! 🎉

Thanks to funding from the MyState Bank Foundation, we'll continue delivering our Powerforce Program, empowering young people aged 12–25 to build confidence, improve their physical and mental wellbeing, develop healthy habits, and create meaningful connections within our community.

Powerforce is about so much more than fitness. It's about providing young people with a safe, supportive environment where they can challenge themselves, grow in confidence, and develop skills that will benefit them for years to come.

We are honoured to be one of the organisations receiving support through the MyState Foundation's commitment to helping young Tasmanians learn, grow and reach their full potential. This funding will allow us to continue creating opportunities that make a real difference in the lives of young people across the Huon Valley.

💛 Huon Valley PCYC is now a Donation Hub for The Kindness Cubby Tasmania! 💛

We're excited to announce that Huon Valley PCYC is now an official donation hub for The Kindness Cubby Tasmania.

The Kindness Cubby supports Tasmanian families doing it tough by providing essential items for babies and children. Every donation, big or small, helps make a real difference to local families in need.

You can now drop your donations into the collection tub at Huon Valley PCYC, 72 Wilmot Road, Huonville during our opening hours.

Some items that are greatly appreciated include:
🧸 Good quality baby and children's clothing
🍼 Baby essentials
🧷 Nappies and wipes
🧴 Toiletries
🧸 Toys, books and puzzles
🛏️ Blankets and other children's essentials

🌟 WHAT'S ON THIS WEEK AT HUON VALLEY PCYC 🌟

Last week was another fantastic one at the centre!

🎓 Children's University this month was a great success, with everyone getting creative making delicious Rice Cake Creatures. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces and creative ideas!

🥕 Drop In Centre has also been buzzing! Our amazing volunteers joined us in the kitchen, helping young people make a range of healthy and delicious foods including homemade quiches. We even gave the viral Kingston & Peaches trend a go... and we're happy to report it was a hit! 🍑🍪

Looking for a fun, welcoming activity to enjoy with your little one?

Wisdom & Wonder Play is a beautiful intergenerational playgroup that brings together young children and older adults through play, music, storytelling, creativity and shared experiences. It's a fantastic opportunity to build meaningful connections while having fun together.

👶 Suitable for children 0–5 years attending with a parent or caregiver.
🏡 Homeschooling families are also warmly welcome!

📢 **PCYC Huon Valley Opening Hours Update** 📢

As of Monday 27th July, our opening hours are changing to 9:00am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Programs and classes that run outside of these hours will continue as scheduled, with instructors managing participant payments during their sessions.

Please also note that water and other kiosk items will now be available through the vending machine located at PCYC.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding and support as we make these changes and continue providing programs for our community 💙

WHAT'S ON THIS WEEK AT HUON VALLEY PCYC!

We're back into the swing of things and can't wait to welcome everyone back for another great week at PCYC!

Here's what's happening this week:
• Parents & Carers Club – A welcoming space to connect, enjoy a free morning tea and meet other local parents and carers.
• Powerforce – Building confidence, strength and healthy habits through our youth gym program.
• Drop-In Centre – Open again with free food, games, activities, homework support and a safe place to hang out after school. Don't forget Chess Club, Oxymoron Gaming and Marc from SETN will also be there on Wednesday to help with resumes, job applications and employment support.
• Plus all of your regular PCYC programs, classes and activities are back for the term!

Their generosity helps us continue providing opportunities, programs and a welcoming space for young people and families across our community. We truly appreciate everything they do to support us.
