Hume L2P Learner Driver Program
Helping young people get on the road to independence.
The Hume L2P Learner Driver Program supports young learner drivers who face barriers to accessing driving practice. With the support of volunteer mentors, participants can gain the supervised driving experience they need to work towards obtaining their probationary licence.
The program is free for young people aged 16–20 years who live in the City of Hume and have difficulty accessing the usual support needed to complete their compulsory 120 hours of supervised driving practice, such as access to a car, a supervising driver or financial resources.
L2P vehicles are located in Broadmeadows, Craigieburn and Sunbury, helping support learners across the Hume community.
Become an L2P Volunteer Mentor
The program is seeking more volunteers to support young people on their journey towards becoming safe, confident and responsible drivers.
Why volunteer?
Make a difference: Help a young person achieve their goals and develop safe, lawful driving habits for life.
Give back to your community: Be a positive, supportive adult in a young person's life.
Connect with young people: Share your skills, experience and time to help build their confidence and independence.
Receive training and support: Benefit from comprehensive training and ongoing program support.
Volunteer at a time that suits you: Choose volunteering times that fit around your own commitments.
