Hotspur recreation reserve committee incorperated

Notice is given of a public meeting to be held at the hotspur hall on monday 27th April commencing at 7pm.

The purpose of the meeting is to nominate persons as the committee of management for the Hotspur recreation reserve for a term of three years. All positions will be declared open and nominations will be accepted prior to or on the night. Nominations from women, aboriginal people, people with disabilities, young people and people from culturally diverse backgrounds are encouraged.

MAKE YOUR OWN REDHIDE or ROOHIDE STOCKWHIP 🐂
On April 11th and 12th, Hotspur will be playing host to a massive line up of old machinery, almost forgotten crafts and excellent pastimes at their inaugural Hotspur Smoky River vintage rally. 🚜
One such craftsman we are lucky enough to have join us is SW Local and whipmaker extraordinaire, Graham Brumley. 🤠
Pictured below is a redhide stockwhip made in one of his courses.

For the rally, Graham is able to take up to 6 students per day. The course will consist of making the whip, followed by some whip cracking. 💥🎉
The course includes
- The materials to make the whip in a kit carefully prepared by Graham
- The use of leatherworking tools to get the job done
- The valuable knowledge and skills to help you create, maintain, use and properly care for your whip
COST: $250 for Red hide whip
$350 for kangeroo hide whip

This year Graham is also willing to run Kangeroo hide whip making course, same weekend, but spanning both days, these whips are much finer, and have many more strands to work with, previous plaiting experiance much prefered if you wish to tackle the roohide whip

NOTE: whip making will be done in the rally forming part of the public display 👀
