A Horsham based group of Rover Scouts, Buandik Rover Crew welcomes young adults aged between 18-26

Although the Winter weather has mostly kept people inside, the Buandik Rovers have still made opportunities to meet up!
Over the past month, we have held a joint night with the Horsham Venturers making balloon animals, learnt how to weld thanks to the assistance of Peter Schulz, and worked on the crew racecar.
Much more to come with the warmer Spring weather!

Congratulations to all who raced in the recent Top Gear Rover! Our very own crew had some awesome results with the Millennium Eagle coming in third overall, Daniel Smyth coming in 1st for the Rookie category, and Bradley Walker coming in 3rd for the individual category!

As the original post mentions, there has not been an event at Mafeking since the tragic fires at earlier this year.
It is thanks to the tremendous effort and generosity of Rovers and other kind hearts all across Victoria that the park is ready to host these events again.
We would not have been able to hold this one without them.
Buandik Rovers especially are looking forward to many more races to come! 🏁🏁

On 11th July 2026, the Buandik Rovers along with many of our Rovering friends said goodbye to one our most prominent members, Matthew Pannan. In 2019, Matt was one of, if not the key figure in reinstating the Buandik Rover crew. Since then, he has gone onto gain various positions on the region exec team, and even the Vic state Rover council. We truly would not be the crew, or organisation we are today without his efforts.

Thank you for all you have done for us Matt! Your impact on our crew and Rovering as a whole is immeasurable! Although we and many other Rovers will miss you, we know you will continue to live by our scouting values and have a profound impact on whatever you choose to do next.

On Wednesday 24th June, the Buandik Rovers met up for a night hike. Where did we hike? Our route was determined by the flip of a coin! Tails left, heads right. We strolled around Horsham and made a fun night out of wherever the coin told us to go and whatever we found along the way!

On Wednesday 27th May, the Buandik Rovers decided to experiment with a couple of deep fryers.
We deep fried a variety of foods, from doughnuts and hotdogs, all the way to battered vanilla slices and icecream.
Although some options tasted better than others, most were surprisingly nice.
However, we did learn that deep frying marshmallows does not end in a pleasant clean up.

On Wednesday 29/4 the Buandik Rovers made terrariums in jars. With a few small plants, pebbles and glass jars, we created our own little ecosystems.
If you're an adult aged 18-25 and like to join in on the fun, send us a message. The more the merrier!

On Saturday 25/4 the Buandik Rovers participated in the ANZAC day march, commemorating the soldiers who gave their lives to fight in WWI, WWII and other wars.
Although the events of war are horrific, we can look back today to thank the soldiers and others in those times for their bravery and sacrifice.
You will be remembered and your courage will inspire generations to come.

A great start to the year for the Buandik Rovers.
We attended Surfmoot on Australia day in Anglesea, went hiking in the Grampians, built and sailed rafts on the Horsham river, and held a spooky cooking night for Friday the 13th.
We also attended the boot of Ethan and Josh from Boss Hurst Rovers. Although it was sad to see them go, we had a fun weekend 4-wheel-driving in Lerderderg to celebrate.
