TARGET 72: PUSH-UP CHALLENGE 2026:

Today’s push‑up target is 72, reflecting the 72% of men who do not seek support when they are experiencing mental health challenges. That is a lot of people carrying things alone. Many young men face real barriers to reaching out. Stigma still exists, as does pressure to live up to traditional ideas of masculinity. Practical barriers like cost and long wait times can also make access harder. Together, these factors can stop young men from speaking up, even when they know something is not quite right.

Putting off support can make mental health challenges last longer and feel heavier over time. Early support can help calm things sooner and make tough periods easier to manage. No one is meant to deal with this alone.

Support does not have to be complicated. Checking in with someone you trust, staying connected with others, and knowing what support options are available can all make a difference.

There are also low‑cost and free mental health services available across Australia. If things feel tough right now, Lifeline on 13 11 14 can be a helpful first step. You can call, text or chat online at any time, day or night.

Headspace Horsham is another great resource for young men to seek help: Please reach out if you need support. Phone (03) 5381 1543 77 , drop in Hamilton Street, Horsham, Victoria 3400 or on our website you can fill in an enquiry form and a clinician will give you a call. Enquiry link: http://bit.ly/4uIFXZ4
