Let's hear it for Horsham volunteer Mark Radford, who was up early yesterday morning placing around 250 poppies along the Anzac Centenary Bridge ahead of the big day! đŸŒș

Mark revealed he was grateful to the Wimmera locals who made and donated the poppies, helping turn the bridge into a meaningful tribute the whole community can take in. đŸ™đŸ»

Horsham kids have taken part in a traditional Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony – led by Barengi Gadjin Land Council – as part of the Council's April School Holiday Program. đŸ”„

The session was delivered by BGLC representatives Lachie, Peter and Terry, who shared important cultural knowledge and guided the group on a nature walk at Dyurrite (Mount Arapiles). đŸš¶đŸ»â€â™‚ïž

Righto, Horsham’s Highway Patrol had a Saturday that went from “steady on, champ” to “is this bloke trying to set a land speed record?” in about five seconds flat! 🚔

Just before 6.30pm last Saturday evening, coppers clocked a grey BMW allegedly doing 80km/h in a 40 zone on Stawell Road.

The boys in blue pulled the beemer up on McPherson Street and had a yarn with the driver. Standard roadside stuff. Licence. Reg. Breath test. Easy.

Except when asked to blow into the tube, he allegedly refused – and then decided the better move was to floor it. Bold. Questionable. Definitely memorable.

What followed was an alleged whirlwind lap through Horsham streets, including claims the BMW crossed onto the wrong side of the road and later hit speeds of up to 170km/h on the Western Highway! 🏁

Police eventually terminated the pursuit – which is cop speak for “we’re not playing this game anymore.”

But the story didn’t end there. Intelligence was flicked over to South Australia’s coppers, who later intercepted the vehicle about 7.30pm. That’s what you call a cross-border tag team.

After being stopped, the driver allegedly returned a positive preliminary breath test and later recorded 0.056 on the evidentiary test.

Not sky-high, but when you’ve allegedly been driving like you’re late for a Fast & Furious casting call, it doesn’t exactly scream responsible adult. The 29-year-old Werribee bloke fronted a police station yesterday, and was interviewed.

He’s now facing a dozen charges including reckless conduct endangering serious injury, dangerous driving while pursued by police, refusing a preliminary breath test, excessive speed – twice – and a grab bag of other traffic offences.

He’s been bailed to appear before Horsham Magistrates’ Court midway though April.

If you’re doing double the speed limit in a 40 zone, refusing to blow, and allegedly topping 170 on the highway, maybe don’t expect the coppers to just wave and say “no worries, champ!” 🚓

Western Highway was a mess this morning after a truck managed to flip itself between Horsham and Pimpinio, shutting the whole thing down in both directions. đŸš›đŸ’„

Emergency crews rushed to the scene near Dahlen Quarry Road at Pimpinio, directing traffic away from the crash site and keeping things under control. Motorists were told to steer clear and detour via the Henty Highway or Blue Ribbon Road.

Sending thoughts to the driver involved – hoping they’re doing okay after such a scary incident! ❀

Indiana Fever recently locked in Horsham’s own Chloe Bibby on a rest-of-season contract, giving the WNBA side a boost of Aussie firepower!

The country Victorian forward wasted no time making her mark in her first two games!

In her first game, she dropped 10 points in just 13 minutes – with a pair of clutch threes – to help sink the Phoenix Mercury 107-101.

That came right after her debut against Chicago, where she racked up eight points in 11 minutes during a 93-78 win!

From Horsham courts to the biggest stage in women’s basketball, Bibby’s proving she belongs.

What started as a hike in the Grampians turned into a full-blown rescue mission near Laharum yesterday – and a bloody impressive one at that! đŸžïž

An injured hiker was stranded and in strife, but thanks to the Stawell and Horsham SES, Victoria Police, and Ambulance Victoria, help was on the way quick-smart! đŸ‘·đŸ»â€â™‚ïž

Helicopter Emergency Medical Service swooped in and located the patient, winching them to safety from rugged bushland. Meanwhile, SES guided the rest of the group safely back down! ⚕

Bit of suspense, a lotta teamwork – and a reminder of just how lucky we are to have these legends out there every day, ready to jump in at a moment’s notice! 🚁

How good is this?! 😍

Horsham’s own Chloe Bibby is making serious waves in the WNBA – becoming the first player since 2008 to nail multiple three-pointers in each of her first three games with Indiana Fever! đŸ”„

Big-time stuff from a country girl who’s clearly not here to muck around. From shooting hoops in Horsham to lighting it up on one of the world’s biggest basketball stages – reppin’ the region in style! đŸ’Ș

Keep an eye on her – this is just the beginning! 🏀

Horsham has copped a cheeky whack from Sh*t Towns of Australia, landing itself in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons once again! 😼

Horsham’s greatest cultural contribution is the ‘florrie’, a flat, crumbed piece of horse steak wrapped around a slice of ham and a bit of cheese. This innovative combination of horse and ham is actually how Horsham got its name. Coincidentally, Horsham is also Old English for ‘whores’ home’, an unkind yet not entirely inaccurate label.

Aside from florries and dicks, Horshamites’ favourite thing to shove in their gobs is crack pipes. In fact, the city’s Second Amendment guarantees all of its citizens the right to carry a crystal pistol at all times. The only people in Horsham not munted on m**h are those who are both underage and pregnant, who take it easy by sticking to binge drinking.

Horsham is a hub of intellectual pursuits like gossip, bigotry and fighting with baseball bats. Its most educated residents are young women with diplomas in hairdressing, who harbour lofty dreams of moving to somewhere fancier like Shepparton and making it on OnlyFans. These ambitious overachievers are the exception, however—most Horshamers are just happy if their welfare cheque covers their ice bill.

Nearby Dadswells Bridge is home to the Giant Koala, a gigantic red-eyed, hairy-eared replica of the only creature with more chlamydia than a local youth. The Giant Koala is the perfect mascot for the area: awkward, disfigured and looking like it’s been up for three days straight on a JobSeeker-funded m**h binge.

Frustrating scenes in Horsham – Moe's Mexican Bar & Grill was vandalised sometime between 3 AM and midday on Sunday.

Word is, other local businesses copped it too. This isn’t a one-off – it’s getting out of control. And for small businesses already doing it tough, it’s a bloody kick in the guts.

Moe's is calling on anyone with CCTV in the area to check their footage from that time. Even the smallest detail could help.

If you saw som**hing, say som**hing. Don’t let grubs like this keep getting away with it.
