Boaties and fishers — we need your local knowledge
Do you launch at Hopetoun Beach, Masons Bay, Starvation Bay or the Hopetoun groyne ramp?

The Shire’s Boat Ramp Study is looking at how our local facilities are used, what challenges people experience, and what improvements may be needed to support safe and practical access in the future.
Your feedback will help shape the options considered.

Two community drop-in sessions will be held in Hopetoun on Thursday 22 October:
📍 Hopetoun Foreshore
🕙 10.00am
📍 Hopetoun Community Centre
🕔 5.00pm

Come down, meet the project team, ask questions and share your feedback on the boat ramp facilities at Mason Bay, Starvation Bay and Hopetoun. All welcome.

Your local knowledge will help guide future planning and possible improvement options.

We might have been rained out in March, but you can’t keep a good Bush Bash down! 🙌

RAIN is excited to finally bring the Bush Bash – Fire Recovery Campout back to Fitzgerald for a night of live music, good company and a proper bush camp-out.

After a tough season, this one is all about bringing locals, growers, bushfire volunteers, families and friends together to kick back, catch up and enjoy a great night under the stars. ✨

A huge thank you to Hopetoun Beachside Caravan Park for collaborating with us to bring the Marine Week After Party and their new Rec Room opening together – such a great way to celebrate the new space! And, a huge thanks to all the volunteers who helped out on the night!

And to the Esperance South Sea Shantymen who kept the dance floor going, playing longer than planned - apparently the crowd was too good to stop! 😂🎶

🏀 BASKETBALL TEAM REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW OPEN! 🏀

It’s time to round up your teammates, choose your team name and pick your colours!

Teams can register a maximum of eight players, with team colours allocated on a first-registered basis—so get in early to secure your preferred colour.

These registrations will help us understand the level of interest and determine the best approach for running a basketball competition during the upcoming summer season.

Teams can be a mix of ages and towns. 16+ only.

🌊 Pontoon Removal – Thank You 🌊

The pontoons have now been removed for the season.

Thanks to Russ Stephens, Ed (Allan) Edwards, and Steve Williams from Hopetoun IGA and Hopetoun Mobile Crane Hire for their help each year putting them in and taking them out. Much appreciated! 🙌
