Coral reefs cover less than 1% of the ocean floor. Yet they support around 25% of all marine species.

They protect coastlines from storms. Support fisheries. Drive local economies through tourism. And provide homes for thousands of incredible species.

When reefs decline, the effects ripple far beyond the ocean.

Protecting coral reefs means protecting biodiversity, food security and coastal communities.

Healthy reefs matter to all of us.

Plastic pollution rightly receives global attention.

But it's only one piece of a much bigger picture.

Our oceans are also facing:

• Rising sea temperatures
• Ocean acidification
• Overfishing
• Habitat loss
• Noise pollution
• Unsustainable coastal development

These pressures don't happen independently.

They combine to create enormous challenges for marine life.

Understanding the problem is the first step towards solving it.

Around the world, there are scientists, researchers, community groups and conservationists with incredible ideas to protect our oceans.

Too often, those ideas never leave the drawing board.

Not because they aren't important.

Because funding is difficult to access.

The Oceans' Harmony Grants Programme exists to help bridge that gap by supporting projects that can create lasting change for marine ecosystems and coastal communities.

If you're working on an initiative that could make a difference, we'd love to hear from you.

Expressions of Interest are now open. Visit our website to find out more: https://bit.ly/4fwl4db

Most people don't realise just how much we depend on a healthy ocean.

🌊 It produces around half the oxygen we breathe.
🌊 It regulates our climate.
🌊 It feeds billions of people around the world.

Yet marine ecosystems are under increasing pressure from climate change, pollution, habitat destruction and overfishing.

Protecting the ocean isn't just about protecting wildlife.

It's about protecting our future.

Over the coming months we'll be sharing stories, research and solutions that inspire action and highlight the incredible people working to restore our oceans.

Together, we can make waves. Visit out website for more: http://bit.ly/3ToiH4T
