9685 nappies in one van equals a lot of orders for nappies that we can fulfill this month!

A huge thank you to The Nappy Collective who have been a lifeline for our nappy supplies in 2026, helping us keep up with demand from the families we support.

Nappies are expensive, but they’re an everyday essential. We’re grateful for this partnership, which helps ease that cost for families while keeping clean, usable nappies out of landfill.

If your little one has moved up a size or finished toilet training, please donate your leftover nappies to Roundabout Canberra or a Nappy Collective collection point. Clean, unused nappies from opened packets are welcome.

🕷Nothing like a little superhero magic in the warehouse.

One of our wonderful volunteers lovingly put together this beautiful Spider-Man themed clothes box for a little boy, and it instantly brought a smile to our faces.

Imagine opening your clothes box and finding a Spider-Man waiting for you!

So much care goes into every clothing pack our volunteers create. They sort, check. fold and thoughtfully choose each item so that when a family receives a package from Roundabout Canberra, it doesn't just contain the essentials- it feels like special gift chosen just for them.

Calling all master builders, collectors and LEGO lovers!

Our Loose LEGO Sale is on Sunday 18 October for ONE DAY ONLY!

Whether you’re searching for pieces to finish your latest creation, stocking up for your next big build or looking for a fun family activity, join us at the Ballroom of the Canberra Southern Cross Club in Woden, from 11am–4pm.

We have 1.5 tonnes of loose LEGO ready for you to explore! Rummage through clam shells full of bricks, discover hidden treasures and choose the pieces that spark your imagination.

What’s available?
- Loose LEGO – $30/kg: Pick the pieces you need or fill a bag with inspiration for your next build.
- DUPLO – $20/kg: Plenty of possibilities for our youngest builders.
- Build Your Own Minifigs $3 each or 4 for $10!: Mix and match to create your own characters!
This sale is all about loose LEGO, DUPLO and Build Your Own Minifigs. Our sets and merchandise are being saved for our 2027 Great LEGO Sale. Every purchase helps Roundabout Canberra provide essential items to babies, children and families, helping children feel safe, warm and included.

WHEN: Sunday 18 October 11am–4pm
WHERE: Canberra Southern Cross Club, Woden
PARKING: You can park at the Club or around the Woden precinct close by.
FOOD and DRINK: Refresh after your search at the dining areas at the Club and support the work they contribute to for charities like us.

Hints and tips
Bring bags for your loose LEGO and DUPLO. You pay by weight, fill your bag and pay for what you buy.
Allow time to rummage and we will have to strictly close at 4pm! Finding just the right piece is part of the fun.
Bring headphones or earplugs (or we will have some onsite) if the sound of thousands of bricks being searched through feels a little overwhelming.
Be kind to our volunteers, who are giving their time to make the sale happen.
Thousands of bricks, endless possibilities and plenty of treasures waiting to be discovered. We can’t wait to see what you find!

A double pram can make the trip to the shops, an appointment or a walk with the children a little easier. For a mum who is worrying about welcoming her new baby while managing her other children, the relief is immense both as a mental and financial load!

A case worker shared this moment with us:
“My client has 2 children and another on the way. She is financially struggling due to unexpected changes in her life and has very limited funds. She was so excited and happy to see the Roundabout Canberra items. She was literally jumping up and down squealing with excitement when she was the double pram.”

We wish everyone who helped prepare that pram could have seen her reaction! From the person who donated it to the volunteers who cleaned and safety checked it, so many people helped make that moment possible.

What an incredible show of community support from the Ionian Club of Canberra. The Club recently held its annual Spring Fair, raising an amazing $7,600 for Roundabout Canberra.

Alongside this generous donation, members of the Club have also been busy creating beautiful handmade blankets and donating other items for the children and families we support. We know how much care and time goes into making each one, and we love being able to include these special handmade pieces in our orders.

The Ionian Club has a wonderful history of bringing people together through friendship, community and service, and we’re so grateful that they chose to support Roundabout Canberra through this year’s Spring Fair.

A huge thank you to everyone who organised the Fair, contributed items, volunteered their time, came along on the day or helped make this very generous donation possible.

$7,600 will make a real difference, helping us provide more children across Canberra and the surrounding region with the essential items they need.

Items can be dropped off at our space at 80 Beaurepaire Cres, Holt during the following times:
Mondays: 10am – 1pm
Tuesdays: closed
Wednesdays: 10am – 1pm
Thursdays: 10am – 1pm
Fridays: 10am – 1pm
Saturdays: 1pm – 4pm.

Don't forget our south side friends Club Kalina (2/167 Soward Way, Tuggeranong) will accept clothes, bedding and toiletries during their opening hours: Monday - Friday 9am – 5pm

Anti-Poverty Week is a chance to talk honestly about what poverty looks like for children and families in our community.

Poverty isn’t only about income.

Research led by Professor Sharon Bessell at ANU shows that child poverty is multidimensional. Her MOR Framework looks at three interconnected forms of deprivation: material, opportunity and relational.

For us at Roundabout Canberra, that idea of material deprivation is particularly important.

Going without clothes and shoes that fit, nappies, a safe cot or car seat, bedding, school supplies or a backpack isn’t simply “missing out”. These are the material basics children need to be safe, healthy, participate in everyday life and feel included.
And we see families going without these essentials every day.

The support we provide doesn’t solve poverty. But it can ease one part of it. It means one less essential a family has to find money for, leaving more in the household budget for rent, food, fuel, healthcare and other necessities.

A recent article by Nicholas Fuller in Canberra Daily shares more about the growing need we’re seeing at Roundabout, and the incredible community response that makes our work possible.

This Anti-Poverty Week, we hope we can keep broadening the conversation about what poverty looks like, particularly for children.

Every child deserves a safe start and every family deserves dignity.

We know it might feel a little early to be talking about the holiday season… but when you know how many children in our community you can help put a present under the tree for, starting early feels like a pretty good idea! 🎄

A huge thank you to the Gungahlin Bulls Junior Rugby League Club and their wonderful community for organising a Christmas Goods Drive for Roundabout Canberra.

The Bulls have gone above and beyond to make sure children of all ages are covered, thoughtfully collecting gifts so that everyone has the chance to receive something special this Christmas.

Their generosity will help many children in our community receive a Christmas present and, through those gifts, feel the love and kindness of their community.

We are so grateful to the Bulls players, families and everyone who got involved. Thank you for showing us that it’s never too early to start spreading a little Holiday joy! ❤️

A little blast from the past…

We heard recently that our old home inside the Kaleen Sports Club is due to be demolished, and it has brought back so many memories.

Eastlake Group generously gave us the space when Roundabout Canberra was still finding its feet, and we managed to squeeze an extraordinary amount into it.

Looking back now, it’s hard to believe we ever fit!

We had one table for our volunteers to stand around and sort donations. Every spare corner was put to use. And when we ran out of storage space, even the men’s toilets became overflow storage. Don't worry - there were alternate toilets upstair!

It wasn’t fancy, and it was definitely a tight squeeze, but so much of Roundabout Canberra was built in that little space. Donations were sorted, orders were packed, friendships were made, and thousands of essential items made their way to local children and families.

We’ll always be incredibly grateful to Eastlake Group for giving us a home at a time when we needed one, and to every volunteer, donor and supporter who walked through those doors.

We’ve come a very long way since then, but Kaleen will always be a special part of the Roundabout Canberra story.

We really appreciate the incredible support of our community. As the seasons change, we often see an increased need for support, and with warmer weather on the way, we expect this will happen once again.
