🎉🎉This week is national volunteer week 🎉🎉

What a brilliant way to say a heart felt THANK YOU to all the amazing Lions who work hard every day, making a difference to the community 😍

We would also like to extend that THANK YOU to all the organizations, partners, friends, people who volunteer in our community.

Lions wouldn't function without the hours and hours of dedication seen each week,

I am incredibly proud to volunteer with the Lions and this works that we do everyday 😊

The theme for 2026 is 'Your year to volunteer'

PDF Carl who we have the honour of calling our current president, is a strong force and shining guiding light who has dedicated himself to his community.

Recently, ALWF Chair David Daniels was delighted to visit the ACT and present past Foundation Vice Chair, Carl von Stein, with a Harry Jenkins Fellow Award in recognition of his services to the Foundation. Carl was instrumental in many key aspects of the Foundation's development dueing in tenure. We are very grateful for his commitment to helping support the wellbeing of Lions and the broader community.

The award recognises the value of service given to Lions Clubs International and/or Wellbeing Promotion.

Congratulations Carl.

Planting one of the million trees that Lions Australia aims to plant by June 2027. The Green Canopy Project aims to cool cities, clean air, support wildlife, and engage a younger audience by partnering with local councils, schools, and community groups.

The tree planter is a former horticulturist who volunteers at Lions Croke Place Landcare. He lost his sight in a car accident 5 years ago
