Everyone needs a home base. We exist to provide you with a safe, stable foundation to grow, dream and build your future.

We’re here to end youth homelessness and provide young people with resources, safe spaces and opportunities to build brighter futures. For over 50 years, we’ve been helping young Tasmanians with employment, education, housing and relationships. We help young people from age five to 25, with:

Rental subsidies to help you afford a stable place to live. Educational support to help you re-engage with school or pursue further learning. Family and relationship support to foster better communication and rebuild connections. Ending violence in the home so you can live in a safe, supportive environment. Accessing essential services to connect you to the support you need to live independently. Crisis and immediate support to help you find a safe space when you feel like you’re out of options. Everyone deserves a home base; we’re here to help you build yours.

🌱 Returning to study, finding stable housing or starting a job can be a huge achievement when the path there has been difficult.

Our Courage to Grow Award celebrates young Tasmanians who have overcome barriers while working towards their housing, health, education or employment goals.

Their story might include reconnecting with school, pursuing further study or finding people and services that support their next steps. Their progress and determination deserve to be celebrated.

Know a young person who has worked hard to build a better future for themselves?

Share their story through a nomination in the 2027 Tasmanian Young Achiever Awards 👇

Thank you, NRE Tas! ❤

We’re incredibly grateful to the team at the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania for supporting Home Base through this year’s Point to Pinnacle. 🗻🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀

Every dollar raised will help us continue walking alongside young Tasmanians, providing practical support, safe spaces and opportunities when they need them most.

From helping a young person find a safe place to call home, to supporting their wellbeing, education, employment goals and connection to community, donations like this help make sure young people don’t have to navigate challenging times alone.

Thank you to the NRE Tas team for getting behind Home Base and helping us create safety, belonging and a future young Tasmanians can believe in. We’re cheering you on all the way to the finish line! 📣

Our Eureka members have made the longest scarf ever🧶!

The scarf is 57m long and it is now showing in the Minds Do Matter Exhibition at Moonah Arts Centre until 24th October. 💖

The name of the artwork is Souls in Reflection🪞

It is a collaborative artwork that celebrates connection, gratitude and belonging.

This long scarf is woven with small pieces of shiny cardboard, each carrying handwritten reflections, thoughts or small things 🌳🌸🌻🐈‍⬛🍵they appreciate in everyday life from our members and friends. The scarf represents warmth and care while the shiny pieces remind us that kindness is reflected between people.

Together, these individual voices are woven into a collective story of resilience, happiness, and community.🤲

Eureka recently welcomed Chef Thom from RACV Hobart Hotel to help upskill the members in cooking! 👨‍🍳

Massive thanks to Chef Thom and the RACV Hobart Hotel team for your time, knowledge and culinary wisdom. Chef Thom and the team also sent Eureka Members home with leftovers and a good bag, including a recipe, so they can take their learnings home and try it out themselves. 🥮

The kitchen smelt so good, and the lasagne was sooo delicious! Sorry, we were too busy eating to get a final snap 🤣
