Windsurfing Tasmania will hold the AGM for the FY2026 on Thursday 1st October 2026 at 7.00pm. The meeting will be held at the Derwent Sailing Squadron, 23 Marieville Esplanade, Sandy Bay and conducted remotely via Zoom. If you would like the meeting link please contact Jo Chau ([email protected]).

The Georges Bay Sailing Regatta is back for 2026!!

Held on the beautiful waters surrounding St Helens over the October/November long weekend (Oct 31/Nov 1), the 2026 Georges Bay Sailing Regatta (proudly sponsored by Community Bank St Helens) is hosted by the Georges Bay Sailing and Aquatic Club and will feature Clubs and Members from across Tasmania as they shoot it out for ultimate bragging rights over 2 epic days!

We are now taking expressions of interest from Clubs and Club Members interested in joining us for this event. Here are all the details so you can lock it in:

Dates: October 31st ~ November 1st, 2026
Location: O'Connors Beach, St Helens (Georges Bay Sailing and Aquatic Club)
Race Classes: All welcome!
Notice of Race will be issued mid-September once EOI's have been received.

Windsurfing Tasmania - Memberships 2026/2027

Hi everyone we have now disabled Tidy HQ and have transitioned to Rev Sport. The new site is still under construction, and more information will be added shortly. If you were a member last season we will email you an invoice for payment, which is the easiest way to renew. You will notice we have rolled the “Competitor/Affiliate/Social” membership into one level being $52.80 (the $2.80 represents fees).

Do you plan to Race this season?
If yes, you will also need to join a Sailing Club. The Derwent Sailing Squadron (DSS) has become our home club and are offering a $130.00 pa “Crew Membership”. As well as enjoying the Squadron’s facilities and hospitality, it is the most economical membership available Australia wide. Please note you may also need to pay for additional race entry fees applicable to each sailing club. The DSS membership year starts on 1 September, so you have a few months up your sleeve to organise. Below is the link. Scroll down and click "MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION FORM". If you are already a member, you will receive an invoice from the DSS to renew:

Do you plan to Race your LT at State or National Level?

If yes, you will also need to join the Windsurfer Class Association of Australia (WCAA). Please note the $90.00 membership does include your Third Party Liability Insurance ($35.00) so you will need to request a credit as this doubles up with your Windsurfing Tas membership. Unfortunately, WCAA will not be offering membership “without insurance” and we do like to support our State for numbers and grant purposes (we currently have one submitted). The “Garda of the South” comes alive for Day 1 of the 25/26 Windsurfer State Titles. Our champs are being held in conjunction with the Peter Johnston Super Series. A lot of FOMO happening on the beach by old and new sailors, so excited to grow our Class! Let’s hope our EOI to hold the 2028 Nationals comes to fruition, so you can join us on our little piece of paradise!
