There’s still time to apply for the 2027 Research Grants, but the clock is ticking.

Successful applicants can receive up to $100,000 to support innovative projects that have the potential to advance healthcare and medical research in Tasmania.

From understanding and treating chronic disease to improving maternal and infant health, supporting older Tasmanians and addressing the factors that shape our health, these grants help turn bold ideas into research that can improve lives.

And this year, there’s also a dedicated bowel cancer research grant, made possible thanks to the generosity of a special donor.

If you have an idea that could help shape a healthier future for Tasmania, now is the time to get your application in.

🧦 The perfect gift for the dad who has everything?

A pair of Cripps Ambassador signature socks! 🧦

Bright, bold and unmistakably Tasmanian, these limited-edition socks feature the much-loved Cripps Ambassador - and they’re doing a lot more than keeping Dad’s feet happy.

Cripps Bakery has teamed up with the Royal Hobart Hospital Research Foundation to bring these special socks to life, with $10 from every pair donated to the Foundation.

That means when you buy a pair, you’re not just giving Dad a pretty great pair of socks. You’re helping support better healthcare right here in Tasmania. 💙

And there’s even more reason to get your socks on in October.

These limited-edition Cripps Ambassador socks are part of Rock for the Royal, our month-long celebration raising funds for the Royal Hobart Hospital Research Foundation.

Every dollar raised through Rock for the Royal helps fund medical research, state-of-the-art hospital equipment, innovation, patient care, education and community health across Tasmania.

Then, on Friday, October 30, it’s Rocks Your Socks Day! 🧦🙌

So grab a pair, wear them loud and proud, and help us rock for the Royal - one very Tasmanian pair of socks at a time.

🎁 Father’s Day is Sunday 6 September - order today via the link in our bio for a little gift with a lot of heart.

Every pair helps the Royal. 💙

Weaving kindness into the community, one stitch at a time 🧶💛

Over three days in late June, the Derwent Waters Retirement Village came together for the ultimate Knit-A-Thon challenge. In just 72 hours, they created an incredible 180 comfort teddies for children at the Royal Hobart Hospital, along with socks and beanies for patients 🧸🧦

And at the heart of it all is Angela, pictured here with the gorgeous collection. Angela was inspired by the exceptional care her husband received at the RHH earlier this year and wanted to give back. But the generosity didn’t stop there – with the help of friends, family and staff at Derwent Waters, Angela and her community raised more than $700! With the Knit-A-Thon taking place during Burns Awareness Month, it was the perfect opportunity to raise funds (and the knitting needles!) to support burns education for children across the state.

We're so grateful to community champions like Angela, and everyone at Derwent Waters. Thank you for making a positive difference to Tassie children and patients at the RHH 💙
