Are you an early career polar researcher in Aotearoa or Australia? Do you like bringing our community together to make things happen? Are you passionate about advocating for polar research & the ECRs who do it? Then join the APECS-O council for 2026!

Nominate yourself by 10 November, ahead of our AGM on 13 November. We've been operating with a flat (non-hierarchical) council structure for the past few years, but have decided to re-introduce specific roles for 2026. 📣 Calling Naarm Melbourne! APECS Oceania are hosting a polar plunge event for you folks too 🏊 Come along to Elwood Beach at 10 am, Sat 21 June (a solstice celebration) for a chilly dip 🥶 and a hot drink ☕ All are welcome - bring your friends and family 👯

Keep an eye out for other polar plunge events in Christchurch, Aotearoa and Nipaluna Hobart.
