Our two worlds are becoming our Australia world finally in fashion

Pictured here is Yolngu woman Magnolia Maymuru and her baby daughter Djarrarana before an Australian sunrise. "So stunning, full of meaning, and pointing to new beginnings, which are calling us all," Edwina McCann, Editor-in-Chief at Vogue Australia said.

"Of all the covers I’ve published featuring the most incredible fashion as imagined by the most talented designers and artists, worn by the world’s most beautiful people with interesting stories to tell, I have never been more proud than I am of this cover."

Edwina McCann noted that looking back over 60 years, she was 'ashamed of our lack of Indigenous storytelling' within the pages of the magazine, and committed to doing better.

Never be a human of Otherness.
It takes a quality skill set like barbers and hairdressers have who sustain a growth mindset and never discriminate anyone’s difference

What I’ve done up until now is nothing, what I’m destined to do is everything!

When we sit still for long enough, we can hear the strength of our own thoughts. But when we stay still for too long, our thoughts can get drowned out by our own fear!

I’ve got a dream, I’ve got a purpose, and my success will do the rest!

Celebrating culture

Ash Barty has prevailed!! 50 years since Evonne Goolagong won Wimbledon, Ash had won the top tennis title. ❤️💛🖤

As Evonne said “We’re both very proud. I’m a Wiradjuri woman from NSW and she’s a very proud Aboriginal also, and what a way to celebrate, not just my 50 years since I won there but it was Naidoc week and it was very important.”

Thank you Will Swanton at The Mercury for this piece that captures the energy of the match and the deep love and respect of these two Australian legends.

A valuable message from Indigenous Barber - Brian Dowd

Being “Trauma Informed” is not about
what certificate, what degree, or what
training you attended! Being “Trauma
Informed” means having the guts to
unpack and own your own pain, so in
turn you can guide others to do the
same!

Our gift shines through onto people everyday.

Here’s a little MAJIK of what a hairdresser looks like when ‘in the flow’ as a conscious hairdresser with their client.
