Calling Designers from Greater Nipaluna/Hobart Area! This is a great paid opportunity coming up with a fantastic company!
Applications are now open to select two designers to join Second Echo Ensemble’s creative sustainability project, Blue Genes. It explores how denim can move beyond clothing and landfill, by redesigning its structure, surface and spatial use.
This is a paid opportunity, developed in collaboration with Design Tas, to work alongside Second Echo Ensemble artists exploring material properties and prototyping with locally-sourced, discarded denim.
Designers are not expected to arrive with a predetermined solution or finished product. The work will emerge through shared research, material testing and collaboration.
Find out more and apply now via secondechoensemble.org/bluegenes.
Applications close at midnight on Sunday 6 September 2026.
To discuss an application or access requirement, please contact Second Echo Ensemble via email at [email protected] or phone their office on (03) 6108 1384 or visit them at Second Echo Ensemble, 228 Liverpool Street, Hobart
