It was fantastic to be part of the Growing the Future day at Hagley Farm School, offering Exeter Year 8 Agriculture students an opportunity to dig deeper into different aspects of agriculture. We loved contributing to the program in the shelterbelt learning space, exploring the many benefits of trees in productive landscapes. Well done to the Hagley teaching team for organising this insightful day of hands-on learning. 🌳

We love bringing forest education to the classroom through our incursion programs 🌳 It was a pleasure to explore the science of Tasmania’s forest landscapes with Summerdale's Year 1–6 students.

As part of Schools Tree Day this year, Punchbowl Primary School joined us at the Sustainable Timber Tasmania Nursery and Seed Centre for a behind-the-scenes look at how native seedlings are grown for forest regeneration and other planting projects.

It was a timely opportunity to discover the science behind seedlings, coinciding with National Science Weeks 2026 theme, Seeds of Science 🌱

With expert knowledge shared and fantastic student questions asked, the tour culminated in the Eucalypt Identification Challenge! The winners received native grasses to plant and care for back at school.

A big thank you to the team at Sustainable Timber Tasmania for sharing their time and expertise with us all 🌳

The fabulous students and teachers of Burnie Year 7 out in the field, investigating the geography and biology of their local space, Fern Glade. While organising such big days out can be a challenge, the impact of these first-hand experiences is always worth it.

Introductory classroom sessions are a fantastic way to introduce the big ideas and forest ecology concepts before getting hands-on in the field.
