Thank you for visiting our FB Page! My hope for this page is to help raise awareness and money for the work we are doing in an impoverished village in Cambodia. You will be able see directly where your money goes, watch the progress of the work being done in the village through photos and updates and meet the families that you are so kindly helping to change the lives of! Through this FB
page, you will get to know the families, hear their personal stories and go on a journey with me, and the Khmer villagers, working together to make a difference and alleviate poverty in this village and in time, in the surrounding villages also. Thanks so much,
Melissa Storey
About Dom Nak Khgas Village – Cambodia
• 1 1/2 hours out of Siem Reap
• Village Chief – Mr Germ Smant (pronounced Garm (deep sound) S-marnt)
• Population – 420 families
• No electricity (Families use car batteries for power)
• Over 85% of village families do not have any clean water or sanitation
• Most families live a subsistence farming life
My connection to this village is through a very dear Khmer family, whom I got to know while living in Cambodia and have now known for over 6 years. This is their home. Our plan is to work with the villagers, and together, dramatically improve the standard of living in the village. Over time, we will then move onto neighbouring villages continuing the same work. How to Help! If you would like to help support our work, there are a few very helpful ways you can help.
1. You can make a one off donation, or better still a small regular monthly donation.
2. You can ‘Like’ and ‘share’ this FB page with as many people as possible! The more people we can reach, the more people who have an opportunity to be involved if they are interested.
3. FUNDRAISE! You can do your own fundraiser activity to help raise awareness and much needed funds! You could rally around your work place/local school/church collecting donations, hold a birthday event fundraiser, run a trivia/quiz night, have a bake sale…the list is endless. EVERY LITTLE BIT COUNTS and it all adds up!
