Updated roadworks https://www.facebook.com/share/p/181BtYEzUH/

UPDATED 👇

Due to recent wet weather, we have changed the dates for resurfacing and line-marking the Kingston-bound lanes of the Southern Outlet between the Davey Street intersection and Olinda Grove, Tollmans Hill.

🚧 We will now be working between 7:30 pm and 6:30 am, from Saturday, 28 March 2026 to Sunday, 5 April 2026.

⏰ Traffic will be stopped for up to 10 minutes throughout the night. Please allow about 15 minutes extra travel time during working hours.

⚠️ A reduced speed limit will remain in place at all times, including during the day until the work is finished, due to changed road surface conditions and loose stones.

🚚Travelling too fast on rough surfaces can increase the risk of stones damaging vehicles, including chipping or cracking windscreens.

This work is very weather-dependent - we will do our best to communicate any changes as soon as possible.

Tasmania’s annual resurfacing and line-marking program will begin over the coming weeks.

More than 80 sites statewide are planned for resurfacing as part of the 2025-26 summer road maintenance program, which helps keep the State Road Network safe, reliable, and well-maintained for all road users.

Preparation works will start at several sites in September 2025, with the program continuing through to May 2026 to take advantage of the warmer weather needed to complete resurfacing and line-marking.

Road users should allow extra time when travelling through worksites, follow the direction of traffic controllers and signs, and keep to the posted speed limits.

More details on the roadworks are available at www.transport.tas.gov.au/roadworks/roadworks_map or the RoadsTas page (www.facebook.com/roadsTAS/).
