Yes, Wattle Group, support to carers is still working hard to help carers, sharing resources from enclosure building, food supplying, even detergent for washing pouches but the biggest asset is the vehicle. Without the vehicle a lot of support just wouldn't happen. Those important trips to vets, just so much is happening and very little time to call our own. Wattle Group transferred to Carer support in 2015, and funds are getting low if you can help to keep this group going with a donation please do, Wattle Group Inc

Yesterday our support vehicle travelled to the East Coast to a Carer for two little Wombats to find their forever home. WRT rescue phone received a call for two little wombats that had got past their baby cuteness and were dumped. They would have died, as two small to fend for themselves and no grass just sand and tussocks the gentleman who contacted us was camping and they came up and climbed on his knee. They were very light in weight and full of ticks he just knew he needed to help them. They are now back on the coast but with a loving carer.

Setting off for a meeting, but decided, cause it had been snowing, to go down the easy side and cut across the low farming area. Had the google map out, all looked good until the map took us to no name road, you guessed it no name road was a dead end. Tempers started to flare as we were getting late for the meeting. Thank heavens bad attitude turned to laughter. Made the meeting 5 minutes late.

Today the support vehicle was returned, after its involvement in an accident.Tomorrow it will travel to Wyatina to undertake mange treatment and Friday off to the south a trip to Dogers Ferry, then to Sandy Bay and finally a meeting of interested treaters in the evening then back to Miena. All for wombats .
We love them.

Thursday came and no outcome for the support vehicle, the wait continues, so disappointed, I didn't post an update. But today has been a great day of training new treater for our precious wombats suffering with mange, I didn't want the service support vehicle to be an issue when so many have been stepping up and making a difference. One day last week over 600km today 6hrs travel all for a good cause.

Today's the day we get word when we can have the support vehicle back. The accident that removed our vehicle from action, has been plagued by not being able to get parts, a workforce suffering with covid, let's hope it's over today and the response to requests for assistance is back on track.

Up-date on the support vehicle. It has been decided not to write it off.
The vehicle is worth $30,000 the insurance would only pay out low $20,000 repairs $15,000 so it came down to repair. Still no date for its return.
Thanks everyone for stepping up and treating those precious wombats.
Back in action soon we hope.
