A community-led campaign to stop the development of a new stadium at Hobart's Macquarie Point Why has Our Place set up a page?

This page is primarily for providing information about the proposal for a Government-sponsored stadium at Macquarie Point and a view which offers an alternative to that being heavily promoted by the Government and the local media. It is also intended to assist those following the page to understand critical timelines and decision-points and the ways in which they might take action to influence political outcomes. Guidelines for comments on the Our Place page

The page will be heavily moderated. Please be aware that commentary will be removed if guidelines are not observed. Commentary should:

*be directly related to the Macquarie Point precinct and stadium – stay on topic
*add knowledge and context to the issue, not simply air personal opinions or fake news
*be civil and courteous - swearing, bad language, intentionally inflammatory comments or images will not be
tolerated
*be respectful of others and foster their safety - abuse, intimidation, bullying, public shaming, hate speech,
discriminatory language, derogatory comments or images will not be tolerated

It’s impossible not to connect the dots between the continuous stories of job losses and Premier Rockliff’s stadium project. Costs are going through the roof and we need to know how bad the damage is.
