🍕 Supporting local businesses to thrive!

Gena recently caught up with Jarrod at Red Grasshopper Pizza in Ulverstone and worked through the Great Customer Experience Program (GCE) Business Health Check.

They had a great chat about opportunities to upskill the team, access business support, strengthen HR practices and identify areas where the business could potentially save some dollars.

They also discussed some of the member deals available through Hospitality Tasmania, including opportunities that could potentially save Jarrod a significant amount on his electricity bills — a great reminder that membership can deliver real value back to your business.

Most importantly, it’s about reminding our local business owners that they’re not on their own. There is support available, and sometimes having someone take a fresh look at the business can uncover opportunities that are easy to miss when you’re busy running it day to day.

Jarrod is doing a great job taking the Red Grasshopper Pizza brand and its legacy into the next stage of its life, while continuing to build on what has made it such a much-loved local business. 🍕❤️

⛳ Investing in your staff is investing in your business.

Tasmania has some incredible golf courses attracting golfers from across Australia and around the world. Alongside our globally recognised courses are some beautiful local gems, including the Royal Hobart Golf Club at Seven Mile Beach, one of only 64 “Royal” golf clubs in the world.

With a loyal membership and regular golfing visitors to the state, RHGC is all about looking after their golfing “family”.

Dave Noonan has engaged staff with the Great Customer Experience Program previously, but with staff turnover, it was time to reconnect.

At the heart of the session, staff agreed that building relationships and creating a sense of community is what matters most — whether that’s on the greens, enjoying a meal in the restaurant or browsing the pro shop.

Simon and Laura said the response from staff was really positive, describing it as “a great, beneficial session” and they’ve already been referencing it with staff today.

That’s the value of investing in your people. 💙

At our Hospitality Tasmania Gateway to Growth event, Gena had the pleasure of meeting Ruby & Kuldeep, owners of the new Apex cafe & Bar in Ulverstone. ☕️✨

It was great to reconnect and chat about their exciting new venture. Gena also took them through the Great Customer Experience Program Business Health Check, there’s so much on offer to support local businesses and help them grow.

📍 Venue Awareness Session – Tullah Lakeside Lodge

What a fantastic morning spent with the team at Tullah Lakeside Lodge delivering a Great Customer Experience (GCE) Venue Awareness Session.

From the moment Gena arrived, it was clear this is a team that genuinely cares. The staff were highly engaged, passionate about their roles, and showed great respect for their management team, something that was clearly reciprocated. Creating a positive workplace culture like this is the foundation of delivering exceptional customer experiences.

With the stunning lake as their backdrop, hot coffee in hand, and a kitchen team proudly sharing stories about the meals they prepare, it was easy to see why visitors enjoy spending time here.

Together they explored ways to elevate the guest experience even further, discussing customer engagement, reducing waste, and identifying those small touches that leave a lasting impression.

A big thank you to the entire team for their enthusiasm, openness, and willingness to learn. It was a pleasure working with them all, and we look forward to seeing their continued success.
