List The Mountain Our aim is listing kunanyi/Mount Wellington at local, state, and national levels. The Mountain is precious to many, many people.

People of European descent have until recently dominated the discussion of the Mountain’s story. ENSHRINE recognises the crucial significance of Tasmania’s Palawa people in the Mountain’s story. We have consulted Tasmanian Aboriginal people, groups and experts in this field, we are in regular contact with Aboriginal groups, and ENSHRINE will not make any heritage nomination without their approval.

Exciting progress report: Following our verbal presentation to the Hobart City Council Planning Committee in February, the committee voted 7:1 in favour of our proposed Scenic Protection Area. It also agreed to invite a stand-alone Scheme Amendment for a historic landscape precinct. A great start in our quest for formal recognition of the Mountain at the various tiers of government.
