Cabarlah invited to have a conversation with Councillors
Toowoomba Regional Council is inviting the Cabarlah community to take part in a conversation with Councillors to share ideas for the future of the district.
Mayor Geoff McDonald said the Community Conversations event is designed to gather local perspectives and aspirations for Cabarlah and the surrounding area.
“Councillors want to hear directly from residents, property owners and businesses about their ideas for Cabarlah and surrounds,” Cr McDonald said.
“We’ve hosted a number of these events across the region, and they’ve all been positive opportunities to connect Councillors with the community and hear some wonderful ideas.
“We want to hear the community’s aspirational ideas on how Cabarlah can grow and develop into the future. This event provides a chance for residents to brainstorm with Councillors and have an open conversation about the future of the district.”
Cr McDonald said there would be no pre-determined topics for discussion.
“Residents are welcome to raise any ideas within Council’s remit. A positive and creative approach to discussion will help Council better understand the community’s needs and aspirations,” he said.
The Mayor said the event would be an informal conversation with Councillors, with a BBQ provided by the Lions Club of Highfields North Eastern Downs and QCWA, with live entertainment from local musicians Jeanie Cuskelly & Friends.
The Community Conversations event will be held on Thursday 28 May, 2026 at Cabarlah Hall, 9856 New England Highway, Cabarlah, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.
