Health, aged care and disability support providers in the Gympie region are invited to join an upcoming Industry Breakfast hosted by TAFE Queensland at the Gympie Campus.

This session will bring local providers together to talk about workforce needs across the sector, from attracting work-ready staff and building stronger talent pipelines, to identifying skills gaps and exploring training and upskilling opportunities for current teams.

If you work in health, aged care or disability support and would like to be part of the conversation, this is a valuable opportunity to connect with industry and help shape future workforce outcomes in the region.

Gympie & District Landcare is now recruiting for its second intake of trainees in the Certificate I in Conservation and Ecosystem Management.

If you are interested in a hands-on pathway into environmental work, apprenticeships or further training then this 5-month, fully funded traineeship might be worth exploring.

Combining outdoor, on-the-job learning with formal study, It’s a great opportunity for young people wanting to build practical skills and step into work in the environmental sector.

There are 9 positions available, with training running from 31 August 2026 to 28 January 2027 (30 hours per week, Monday to Thursday).

You’ll gain skills in plant and fauna identification, biosecurity, machinery care, workplace safety and ecological restoration, along with First Aid and White Card tickets.

Information sessions will be held at Gympie Landcare, 5 Groves Road, Araluen:
• Wednesday 8 July, 12:00–1:00pm
• Monday 13 July, 10:00–11:00am
