As a "foster failure" of golden retrievers and felines over the years, the inception of Golden Paws Rescue Inc. was an accumulation of thoughts and ideas of several local rescue volunteers after "Sasha" was reunited with her delighted owner. If you are looking at rehoming/surrendering your Golden Retriever, please contact us on 0499 551-401 or email us on [email protected]. We are staunch advocates for responsible pet ownership, including desexing and microchipping. are a Non for Profit Incorporated Association (IA56348) and registered as a Charity; as well as being endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) meaning any donation over $2.00 is tax deductible. Please note that presently we only adopt in Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Fraser Coast region. We are unable to offer an adoption service outside these areas at this time. Ruby’s at it again, bath day bliss in full swing. This gorgeous GPR girl doesn’t just tolerate her pamper time, she absolutely lives for it. Bubbles, warm water, the whole princess treatment… and don’t even get me started on the blow dry. Every fortnight she struts down for her spa session like the little queen she is. Looking stunning as always, Miss Ruby, and those sunnies are giving pure superstar energy. 💛💛💛💛

Hey there, we’re sorry we haven’t been online for a wee while. Losing our beautiful GPR doggie Angus has been a heavy cross to carry, and we’ve truly struggled, still are if we’re honest. But please keep checking in on our GPR doggie stories; sharing them keeps us connected to the joy these gorgeous goldies bring.

We can share a bright update: GPR adopted doggie Toby, at 12½ years young, is still going absolutely great guns. Toby was adopted 4½ years ago and worked hard on a weight‑loss regime before leaving our care, this big guy arrived at nearly 55kg and is now a healthy 41kg. A pawsome achievement! He enjoys a couple of walks each day and is surrounded by the most amazing, supportive family. Another beautiful success story. We absolutely luv receiving updates on our adopted doggies.

It is with a shattered heart that we share the sudden passing of our beautiful GPR Adopted doggie, Angus, on Monday night. His family is devastated, struggling to make sense of a world that no longer has their gentle giant in it. Angus was 11, soon to turn 12 in December, and he spent his years giving love so freely, especially to the many surrendered GPR doggies he welcomed as a calm, steady foster brother. His bond with Leo the cat was something truly special; they slept pressed together every night, groomed each other with quiet devotion, and moved through life as inseparable companions.

Angus came into care five years ago with medical challenges, but Bridget saw his heart instantly, fixed what needed fixing, and knew he was never leaving, everyone fell hopelessly in love. He adored camping in his custom campervan, travelling to Airlie Beach, and catching up with his besties Luna, Nash, Rocky, Ernie, Charlee, Zadie, Kenny, Tessa, Rosie and so many more.

In his final moments, Passionate Paws Vet answered the call at stupid o’clock, ensuring Angus left this world without suffering, and we are deeply grateful to Dr Amanda for her compassion and care in a truly emotional moment.

Goodbye, my beautiful Angus Wangus, losing you has broken me completely. You were my special boy, but believe in your heart that I will see you again.

Most mornings, Simba and Ruby start their day with a beach walk, pawsome way to begin. Last week we scattered Duchess’s ashes there, and now, in the little dip where the tide rolls in and out, some of her ashes still rest beneath the water. It feels almost like she’s lingering, just checking in, whispering, “I’m still here… thanks for stopping by.” A tiny moment, but it made our hearts swell. It’s the little things that remind us luv doesn’t really go anywhere. 🧡🧡🧡🧡
