QCWA Herberton Branch QCWA provides support and friendship for women of all ages in all areas of the state, rural and city.

We advocate to improve conditions for women and their family. The QCWA Hall is also available for hire to our local community.

The Country Women’s Association (CWA) began in Sydney on 20 April 1922, when bushwomen gathered to improve the lives of women and children in the country.

Just five months later, the Queensland CWA, QCWA, was born in Brisbane with Ruth Fairfax as its first President. From there, branches spread across Australia – WA (1924), SA (1926), Victoria (1928), NT (1933) and Tasmania (1936).

From humble beginnings, the CWA has grown into one of Australia’s most loved community organisations – supporting families, strengthening communities, and giving women a voice for over 100 years. 💜
