Did you hear the exciting news on SAFM this morning?

We’re incredibly grateful to SAFM 107.1 and Health Partners for choosing to support HAS Foundation through this year’s Closet for a Cause campaign.

Over the coming weeks, Adelaide will come together to fill an incredible charity closet, with pieces donated by familiar faces, sporting legends, local personalities, designers, businesses and friends of SAFM.

And it all leads to one very special shopping day, with 100% of proceeds supporting HAS Foundation.

But for us, this campaign is about so much more than fundraising.
It’s about shining a light on paediatric palliative care and helping more people understand what life can look like for families caring for a child with a life-limiting condition.

These families are navigating some of the hardest days imaginable, while still trying to find joy, create memories and make every moment count.

They deserve to be seen.
They deserve to be heard.
And they deserve to feel supported and surrounded by community.

Over the coming weeks, Bel and Bernie will share stories from HAS and the families we walk alongside, helping Adelaide understand who their support is helping and why it matters.

We are so excited to be apart of this amazing campaign!!

Can’t wait for the next few weeks, stay tuned…..

Imagine being a family, caring for your child with a life-limiting illness, having to navigate incredibly difficult days while trying to make the most of your precious moments together. Sadly, this is the reality for families right here in South Australia. 💛

That’s why we’re raising money for the HAS Foundation, a local charity supporting children with life-limiting conditions and their families.

This October, with the help of our friends at Health Partners, we’re doing things a little differently with Closet for a Cause! 👗 Over the next few weeks, we’ll be asking our friends around Adelaide to donate pieces from their wardrobes including SAFM friends, Channel 7 icons, sporting legends, local stars, designers, businesses, you name it!

We’ll be building the ultimate charity closet before throwing one very big shopping day, where you’ll be able to grab some amazing pieces, with 100% of the proceeds going to HAS Foundation.

But you don’t have to wait for the event to get involved, you can donate right now! Whether it’s $2, $10, $20 or whatever you can spare, every little bit adds up. We’re not asking one person to do something huge. We’re asking Adelaide to do something small together. 💛

We’re aiming to fill the closet, bring Adelaide together and raise as much as we can for HAS Foundation.

We are incredibly proud to share that HAS Foundation has been named a finalist for Outstanding Achievement by a Team in Palliative Care Fundraising at the 2026 State Palliative Care Awards, and our wonderful Treasurer and volunteer Board Member has also been named a finalist for Outstanding Work by an Individual in Palliative Care Volunteering. 🧡

Megan gives so much of her time, expertise and heart to HAS.
As a Partner at Nexia Edwards Marshall, she has also been instrumental in building a wonderful connection between Nexia and HAS, with the team becoming long-time supporters of our work and our families.

A huge congratulations to Megan and our whole HAS team.

These nominations recognise the incredible amount of care, energy and commitment that goes into fundraising and supporting families in paediatric palliative care and bereavement.

Thank you Megan, our team, Board, volunteers, supporters and community, none of what we do happens without people who continue to show up for HAS and the families we support. ❤️

Our favourite HAS community event of the year, Walk with a Pal returns on Sunday, 1 November 2026 and we want you there!

School holidays are here.

It's a chance to slow down, reconnect and make a few memories together.

But here’s the thing, it doesn’t have to be perfect.

The plans don’t have to be big. The days don’t have to be packed. And the memories don’t have to look Instagram-worthy. A movie on the couch. A walk outside. Ice cream for dinner. A day spent doing absolutely nothing.
Whatever you can manage is enough.

Because sometimes, like these photos of our boys... the smallest, simplest moments are the ones we hold onto the longest.

So these holidays, give yourself permission to slow down, be together and simply live for the moment.

Live for the Moment and Love for a Lifetime.

Today we celebrate a very special birthday of a gorgeous little person who is very special to HAS.

Today, Lila Rose would have turned 21.

Lila holds a very special place in the hearts of the HAS Team, not only because of the beautiful girl she was, but because her mum, Kara, is such an important part of our HAS family.

Lila’s life was filled with challenges, but those challenges never defined her. She was full of personality, cheekiness, laughter and an incredible zest for life.

She loved rocking out in the car, heading out for family activities, she loved nature, heading to the bowling alley, spending weekends by the river and enjoying morning walks with her family. She found joy in the simplest everyday moments and brought plenty of joy to those around her too.

Lila passed away in 2020, at just 15 years old.

Here at HAS we believe every birthday is worth celebrating. Every life is worth remembering. And every person we love deserves to be spoken about, remembered and celebrated.

So today, let’s celebrate Lila.
Celebrating the beautiful memories.
Celebrating the laughter and most importantly, singing loudly in the car!

Happy 21st Heavenly Birthday, Lila! You will always be part of the HAS family and we will never stop celebrating you.

Hopefully third time lucky! 🤞❤️

I have been incredibly honoured to be nominated as a Westfield West Lakes Local Hero twice before… but we haven’t quite received enough votes to take home the major grant.

So here we are again and I’m asking for your help! 🙏

I’m incredibly grateful to once again be selected as a finalist in the Westfield Local Heroes program, with the opportunity to secure $20,000 for HAS Foundation if we receive the most community votes.

Putting myself out there and sharing our story isn’t always easy.

Every time I talk about Hunter, it brings back the memories, the love, the heartbreak and all the emotions that come with losing him.

But Hunter is the reason I keep showing up.

I want to keep his memory alive, keep speaking his name and use our lived experience to help other families walking a similar path feel seen, supported and, most importantly, not alone.

If we are lucky enough to receive the $20,000 grant, the funding will help us grow our Held by HAS program, creating more regular, relaxed opportunities for bereaved and current palliative care parents and families to come together.

A coffee. A meal. A catch-up. A shared experience.

A space where you don’t have to explain your story because the people around you simply get it.

This is something families have told us they need, and something we really want to create more of.

But to make it happen, we need your votes!

So please, please vote for me……yes, I’m starting to feel a little like a politician! 😂 Then share this post with your friends, family, colleagues and networks and ask them to vote too.

Every eligible vote counts, and this year I would absolutely LOVE for it to be third time lucky. 🤞
