What a heartwarming afternoon being part of Young Impact on Sunday. ❤️

HAS Foundation was incredibly lucky to be one of three charities chosen by the kids, alongside The Forktree Project and Meals on Wheels SA

These incredible young change-makers raised over $33,000, meaning each charity received more than $11,000, what an amazing achievement!

We were especially humbled that HAS Foundation received the most votes on the day, granting us over $11,500 to help support children with life-limiting conditions and their families across South Australia.

But what stayed with me most wasn’t just the amount raised. It was hearing how the kids had made it happen, casual clothes days, movie days, baking, making and selling things and seeing them learn firsthand the power of philanthropy, generosity and giving back using their time, talent, treasure, ties and testimony.

It was such a beautiful reminder that the future is in very good hands, with these incredible young change-makers leading the way. ❤️

A huge thank you to Impact 100 South Australia for creating such a wonderful initiative for the younger generation, and to Kath House, Julia Dreosti and your wonderful team of volunteers for guiding and supporting the kids throughout the journey.

We feel very grateful to have been part of it.

Heart very full ❤️

This is our why.

HAS Foundation began with Hunter and his family's mission to turn their pain into purpose.

Today, Hunter’s legacy lives on in every child we support, every family we walk beside and every memory making moment we help create.

Because when time is precious, every moment matters.

This is HAS.
This is why we do what we do.

Live for the Moment. Love for a Lifetime.

Calling dads, husbands, grandpas, mates and mentors…

We have just ONE table left at our inaugural Around the Table Father’s Day Lunch next Friday, and we’d absolutely love to fill the room at The Lion Hotel

With Tom Rehn as our MC and Rory Sloane as our special guest, plus great food, drinks, entertainment and plenty of laughs, it’s shaping up to be a fantastic afternoon.

More importantly, this lunch is about shining a light on the men who quietly show up, the dads, mates and mentors who offer strength, support and care when families need it most.

Every ticket and every dollar raised will help HAS Foundation continue providing practical support, connection and meaningful moments for South Australian families navigating paediatric palliative care and bereavement.

So grab your dad, get a group of mates together, bring your colleagues or clients and help us fill our final table!

WE NEED YOUR VOTE!

We’re incredibly proud to share that our co-founder, Ella Stratton, is a 2026 Westfield West Lakes Local Heroes Finalist!

After losing her beautiful son Hunter just before his 12th birthday, Ella turned her pain into purpose, establishing HAS Foundation in his honour.

For the past eight years, she has carried Hunter’s legacy forward, helping South Australian families navigating paediatric palliative care and bereavement feel supported, understood and less alone.

Now, we need our wonderful HAS community to rally behind her.

If Ella receives the most votes, HAS Foundation will be awarded a $20,000 grant to expand our Held by HAS program, extending support beyond our existing workshops for bereaved mums and dads.

The funding would create more opportunities for families to connect, build friendships and find comfort within a community that truly understands.

From relaxed coffee mornings to paint-and-sip evenings and other meaningful gatherings, cause we want families to know that support continues and they never have to walk this journey alone.

Voting is FREE and takes just one minute.

Every vote will help us provide greater connection, care and support to more South Australian families.

Please vote for Ella and HAS Foundation via the link below, then share this post with your family, friends, colleagues and community.

Together, we can do this! We can help more families to Live for the Moment and Love for a Lifetime ❤️

How do you support a friend who has lost a child?

We know it can be hard to know the right thing to say or do when a friend loses their child. You might worry about saying the wrong thing or feel unsure about how best to help.

But often, simply knowing you are there can mean so much to someone grieving their child.

If you’re wondering how you can support them, here are a few gentle reminders:

Just be there - Listen, sit in silence, go for a walk together or simply hold space for whatever they need.

Say their child’s name - Their child is never forgotten. Hearing their name spoken and knowing others remember them can mean more than you realise.

Keep checking in - Grief doesn’t disappear after a few weeks, months or years. Keep showing up, even long after others may have stopped asking.

Don’t just offer, do - Drop off a meal, pick up a few groceries or leave something at the door. Small, practical acts of care can make a difficult day a little easier.

Remember the important days - Birthdays, anniversaries and other significant dates can carry so much. A simple message to say, “I’m thinking of you and remembering them today” can mean the world.

Supporting a friend after the loss of their child doesn’t need to be perfect. There are no perfect words.

It’s about compassion, remembering, and continuing to be there ❤️

We love what we do at HAS 🤍

We’re proud of how far we’ve come, incredibly grateful for the people who stand beside us, and always working hard to do more, give more and share more for paediatric palliative care families.

There is so much heart behind everything we do… but yes, we couldn’t resist jumping on the kinda chic trend. 😉✨

Because making a difference can be meaningful, heartfelt… and kinda chic too.
