We’re incredibly honoured to share that Fierce Females founder, Amanda Giblin, has been named a finalist in the 2026 Gold Coast Local Hero of the Year Award.
Presented as part of the Gold Coast Australian of the Year Awards, this recognition celebrates individuals helping build a stronger, safer, and more connected community.
For over 10 years, Fierce Females has worked alongside women and young people impacted by violence and trauma, delivering trauma-informed violence prevention, recovery, emotional regulation, and personal protection programs across the Gold Coast and beyond.
What started as one woman’s desire to help other women feel safer has grown into a community-driven organisation that has supported thousands of participants through schools, refuges, community programs, and frontline partnerships.
This recognition is not just for Amanda. It belongs to every volunteer, supporter, referral partner, team member, and participant who has been part of this journey.
Most importantly, it belongs to the women and young people who have trusted us with their stories, their healing, and their growth.
Thank you to the City of Gold Coast for recognising the importance of this work, and congratulations to all of the other finalists creating meaningful change across our city.
No matter the outcome, we’re proud to continue standing beside our community and doing the work that matters.
