Race Report - Thredbo Gravity Series - Round 4 - Chainless Champs

Another throwback to April 2026

The final event of the 2026 Thredbo Gravity Series, the legendary Chainless Champs, delivered the perfect end to the season. Riders swapped race kits for fancy dress and tackled the iconic top-to-bottom descent with their chains removed, relying solely on gravity, momentum and line choice.

HORCC riders fully embraced the spirit of the event, with Sonny Paton taking out the best dressed prize as a brilliantly painted Minion.

On the track, the club recorded another strong set of results. Annie Martin claimed victory in U19 Women, while Mark Krummer and Lauren Martin both secured bronze medals in their respective Masters 40+ categories. In the elite ranks, Daniel Scobie narrowly missed the podium in Open Men, finishing 4th, while Connor Mielke was 5th in Open Women.

NSW DH State Championships | Ourimbah | 2nd August 2026

Were a bit behind on Race Reports at the moment. But here’s some recent success to share.

The NSW Downhill State Championships at Ourimbah were held on the newly opened Democracy Manifest trail, a track that demanded full commitment with high-speed straights, big drops and jumps, and two technical rock sections. With incredibly tight times across all categories, every second counted.

Charlie Norton finished 15th in U15 Men, while
Archie Forbes claimed 30th in U15 Men, both gaining valuable experience on one of the state's toughest downhill tracks.

In U17 Men, Kalea Krummer delivered an outstanding performance to finish 3rd, earning a spot on the podium and recording the 6th fastest overall male time of the day.

Annie Martin secured 4th place in U19 Women, earning a place on the five-rider championship podium after a strong run through the demanding course.

In the Masters categories, Mark Krummer rode to 2nd in Masters Men, while

Shaun Martin claimed the NSW State Championship title in Super Masters Men, taking the top step of the podium.

Results
🥇 Shaun Martin – 1st Super Masters Men (NSW State Champion)
🥈 Mark Krummer – 2nd Masters Men
🥉 Kalea Krummer – 3rd U17 Men, 6th Overall Male
🏅 Annie Martin – 4th U19 Women (Podium)
Charlie Norton – 15th U15 Men
Archie Forbes – 30th U15 Men
With four riders standing on the championship podium and strong performances throughout the team, it was a successful weekend on a spectacular new track at Ourimbah.
