Congrats Abbey. More fabulous news. More home grown talent Melbourne East Netball Association Rep Program and Park Orchards Netball Club

💙 PLAYER SIGNING 💙

Exciting news! We’re delighted to announce that our young gun defender, Abbey Whitaker is signed for 2027!

After starting 2026 in our 23&U program and earning multiple call-ups to Championship throughout the season, we’re thrilled to have Abbey signed in Championship from the start in 2027! 💙

Abbey proved her ability and talent against some of the most experienced goalers in VNL Championship, showing she has what it takes to compete at this level. We can’t wait to see what she can do in 2027!

We’re so excited to have Abbey — and her bubbly personality — back in Waves colours for another year! 🌊💙

Our Association is a Finalist!
We’re excited to share that Melbourne East Netball Association has been named a finalist in two categories at the 2026 Netball Victoria Community Awards
- Association/League of the Year
- Inclusive Netball Community of the Year

And a special shout-out to our very own Marian Fitzpatrick our Umpire Convenor, who is a finalist in the Contribution to Umpiring Award.

These nominations recognise the people, passion and teamwork that make our netball community so special. We’re proud of what we continue to build at MENA and the role our players, coaches, umpires, volunteers, staff and families play in making netball a place where everyone can belong and thrive.

Congratulations to all the 2026 finalists across Victoria.

Winners will be announced at the Netball Victoria Awards on Sunday 18 October. Best of luck to everyone.
