SYDNEY ROCK LILIES - SEE OUR MASS DISPLAY
The Gardens has a mass display of Sydney Rock Lilies, Dendrobium speciosum, with more than 100 plants in bloom. The next fortnight is the time to visit the Gardens to see this display in all its glory, along with our many other early spring flowers.

IT'S NATIONAL WATTLE DAY

National Wattle Day is celebrated on 1 September, the first day of spring in Australia. This annual celebration commemorates the seasonal change by recognising our national floral emblem and all that it represents for the Australian people.

There are still lots of Wattles in flower at the Botanic Gardens so come along and introduce your children and grandchildren to Australia's floral emblem.

Spring is such a great time to visit the Botanic Gardens. Enjoy a family picnic on the Eucalyptus Lawn and take a stroll around our beautiful gardens and grounds. There's so much to see.

MAYOR PENFOLD SUPPORTING THE BOTANIC GARDENS

Maitland is widely recognised as one of the fastest growing regional cities in NSW and many of our visitors and volunteers live in the Maitland area.

Our Patron Emeritus Professor Tim Roberts had the opportunity to meet with the mayor of Maitland Phil Penfold yesterday to discuss the Gardens and its importance to Maitland and the Hunter Region for education, tourism, and the protection of our natural environment.
