Did you know that almost two thirds of people who die in house fires have a disability?
On average, 18 people die in preventable residential house fires in Victoria every year.
CFA and Fire Rescue Victoria have an online learning module to support at risk people with planning for fire emergencies at home.
Prevent, Detect, Escape – Home Fire Safety for people at higher risk is made for people at increased fire risk, and for people who support or care for them.

⁉️ FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T RECEIVED YOUR CENSUS Instructions in the mail yet.🤔🧐

Here is the latest update from the Australian Bureau of Statistics:

Census night is Tuesday 11 August 2026.
The ABS is working to get instructions on how to complete the Census to all households before Census night. If you haven’t received your instructions, you can:

💻Complete online – visit www.census.abs.gov.au,
select the ‘Continue to Census form’ button
and then select the ‘Get a Census number’ button.

📝Complete with a paper form
– request a form online or call the Census Contact Centre on 1800 181 227.

👪Each household only needs to complete the Census once.
If you complete the Census online or on paper and then receive your instructions in the mail, there’s nothing more for you to do.

Please recycle unused Census materials.

📈Census data helps plan local services for individuals, families and communities. Having the right numbers means the right services can be provided in your community.

✅In the Census, every answer matters.
For information to help complete your Census, visit www.census.abs.gov.au/help.

💪 Arms: Can they lift both arms?

💬 Speech: Is their speech slurred? Do they understand you?

⌚ Time: Time is critical. If you see any of these signs, call 000 straight away.

A stroke is always a medical emergency, and it can happen to anyone at any time.

❓️Need to know more about why it's Important❓️

Community Planning is a process by which community members help to create a shared vision for our town. It helps identify desired changes or new initiatives that will help make Heathcote a better place to live.

Your input is important. By completing this survey, you can help influence the future direction of Heathcote and ensure local priorities are heard and represented. Whether your interests relate to community facilities, events, health services, recreation, youth opportunities, environment, tourism, transport or the overall liveability of our town, every response contributes to building a stronger and more vibrant, connected and resilient community.

The Heathcote community is responsible for this plan and the achievement of the goals contained within it. Individuals and community groups are encouraged to read the plan and take on goals which they wish to see accomplished.
Together, we can achieve our collective goals for Heathcote.
