Ikarian Brotherhood of New South Wales

The purpose of the Brotherhood is the unity, co-operation and mutual support of Ikarians in New South Wales.

The Ikarian Brotherhood is a social Greek community group which aims to bring people, whose ancestry can be traced from the Eastern Aegean islands of Ikaria and Fourni, together. Membership is open to anyone over 18 years of age (or their spouse) whose ancestry can be traced to the eastern Greek island of Ikaria and Fourni. The Brotherhood warmly welcomes all members and their guests.

A beautiful day out today with all our Ikarian Brotherhood members.
Thank you KST bus who drove us to Woy Woy Fisherman's Wharf where we caught the Central coast ferry to Davistown for Morning tea at the RSL then back for a delicious seafood lunch at Fisherman's Wharf kiosk. We watched the Pelicans feed then coffee and dessert at the local Pub. We had perfect weather and perfect company! 🌞

Our day out to Woy Woy is this Sunday and we have 5 seats left! If you would still like to join us please message Effie Tourvas to book and you can pay on the day.

For those who have booked please bring a hat sunscreen and a bottle of water as its going be warm and if you have a foldable 💺 chair please bring it along and place your initials or a ribbon to distinguish it 🎀

The historic day of July 17, 1912, marked the expulsion of the Ottoman Turkish garrison by Ikarian rebels, who proclaimed the establishment of the Free State of Ikaria. 🇬🇷

Today, we commemorated this occasion with our Ikarian families and friends. We extend our gratitude to everyone who participated, enjoying a delightful afternoon with delicious food and cake, and value your support and friendships ❤️

Independence Day: On July 17, 1912, Ikarians revolted against Ottoman officials, leading to the creation of an independent state.

We would like to celebrate this significant day and would love to hear your ideas on how you would like to celebrate this day.
