Congratulations to our Lieutenant 2, Kylie Geary, for her continued dedication to keeping her skills current and relevant to her roles within our Brigade and our Group, as well as the wider Region.

Among other Operational roles, Kylie is part of the SPAM Team as a valued Peer Support Officer, looking out for our Mental Health & Wellbeing, a huge support for our Brigade, Group and Region.

💚 Supporting the wellbeing of our volunteers 💚

On Sunday, our Wellbeing Officer Jana Wurriehausen delivered a Mental Health First Aid Refresher course at Strath!

The course helps CFS volunteers build confidence in recognising when someone may be struggling and provides practical skills to support their fellow members.

Thank you to everyone who attended and continues to make wellbeing a priority within their brigade. 🚒👏

Proudly supported by SA Power Networks

Hay Flat welcomes Noah to the brigade - this kid has been super keen and has counted down the days since he was 4 years old, and joined on his 11th birthday in January this year.

Sporting his new gear, he is a regular member of the Southern Fleurieu Cadets and eagerly trains to become the future "Captain" of Hay Flat!

Onya Noah!

Today we celebrate the mums, step-mums, grandmothers, carers and mother figures who hold families and communities together — often quietly, always selflessly.

To the women in our brigade, operationally and those in support roles across the group, thank you for the strength, care and dedication you bring not only to the fireground, but to our crews, your homes and the people around you every single day.

Motherhood doesn’t stop for pagers, callouts or long nights — and neither do you.

From all of us at Hay Flat CFS, we wish you a safe, happy and well-deserved Mother’s Day. ❤️🚒💐

Our volunteers were proud to be part of the Yankalilla Dawn Service this morning. A special day that means so much to all of those who served including several of our own members. It was also a special day where the next generation of firefighters joined us.

Thanks to Hay Flat Country Fire Service and to our Southern Fleurieu CFS cadets.

Today, we pause.

On ANZAC Day, we honour the courage, sacrifice, and spirit of those who have served, and those who continue to serve.

We remember the lives given, the families forever changed, and the legacy of resilience that lives on through generations.

As a brigade, we stand with our community in reflection and gratitude. The values we carry; mateship, service, and dedication; are deeply rooted in the ANZAC spirit.

Lest we forget. 🌺

“It’s been a busy weekend for Hay Flat CFS members. We’ve had crews at Hindmarsh Valley completing an operational pumps course, while others have been out conducting radio tests, equipment checks, and testing hydrants in and around Normanville to ensure a reliable water supply as winter approaches.”

Following the challenging Deep Creek Fire earlier this year, the CFS Foundation has been working hard to distribute donated hampers, made possible by the generosity of local businesses.
This initiative was driven by Sammie Binns from Limitless Quality Solutions—an outstanding effort in bringing everything together.
Great work to Sammie and the team, and a big thank you to all the businesses who contributed to this project.
To those businesses who supported these hampers, your generosity truly means the world to the Hay Flat CFS team. Pictured here receiving the hampers are Hay Flat Lieutenants Rick and Daniel.
