Thank you all so much for making the picnic a wonderful event. Despite the clouds but thankfully no rain, everyone participated in either listening to music, creating art, playing games, drinking coffee, visiting stallholders and joining in. It was a great day! By the end, we the committee were exhausted but very happy, There are still some Hawthorndene 100 activities planned through the remaining months of this year - stay tuned!

Parking at the oval has always been tricky on weekends, especially when there's an event going on.

To help with the crowds, we've set up a "kiss and go" spot in the Wattle Avenue (gravel) car park. If you're not walking in, you can quickly drop off your family and picnic stuff there, then find a parking spot away from the event area.

With only a few days to go for the Hawthorndene 100 Celebration Picnic, let’s take a look at what you’ll need to bring or not.

What to bring:

🌮Food! Whether it’s a few sangers, or a gourmet spread (see https://www.womensweeklyfood.com.au/lunch/picnic-food-29722 ) bring something tasty to fuel your day. .
🥤 Something to drink - This is an alcohol-free event, so anything else, iced tea, fizzy drinks, water. Note: there will be a coffee van 🚐situated across the road at Joan’s Pantry car park.
🧺A blanket, cutlery, sunscreen, insect repellent and something to take your rubbish away in (there will be a few extra bins – recycling, organics, general).
🚸Kids – there will be a load of activities to keep your little ones amused throughout the day.
🥳Good vibes – with our music acts, cultural activities and games, there will be plenty to be happy about.
🌂 It looks like it’s going to be a cool and slightly damp day, so wear layers and bring a brolly.

Please note that this is a dog free event so please leave your lovely dog/s at home for the day.
