The AFL season may be over but Gisborne Oaks’ passion for the sport continued with the announcement of the winners of this year’s footy tipping competition. Our residents and team had a great afternoon celebrating our winners!

We kicked things off with a rousing rendition of Up There Cazaly, followed by plenty of laughs, footy memories and good-natured competition. We finished the afternoon with a handball competition, proving that the competitive spirit is still going strong at Gisborne Oaks! 🏉👏

Congratulations to all our footy tipping winners, and a big thank you to everyone who joined in and made the afternoon such a fun occasion.💙🏉

To mark International Day of Older Persons, we're highlighting our Corowa Court Mosaic Project — a resident-run initiative that shines light on the power person-centred care plays in reaffirming purpose in an older person’s life.⛲

Originally sparked by former resident and soon to be Benetas volunteer, Annie, the project aimed to revamp two water fountains with mosaic tiles crafted at the hands of residents.

In support, our Corowa Court team members across the lifestyle, maintenance, gardening, cleaning, care, and hospitality areas worked alongside participating residents and community groups to bring Annie’s vision to life.

Through many individual acts of participation, the first fountain stands complete — a true testament of the friendship, joy and purpose that came together to complete the project.

Now living independently outside of Corowa Court, Annie’s first-hand experience with person-centred care has motivated her to return as a Benetas volunteer to lead the revamp of the second fountain. Annie has also embarked on completing a Certificate IV in Leisure and Health at age 78.

At Colton Close, we recently welcomed our residents’ families to join us for a wonderful "crafternoon" of pottery, creativity and connection.

Together, residents and their loved ones got creative, making beautiful keepsakes, decorations and keychains, some to treasure for themselves and others to give as special gifts. 🎁

It was wonderful to see everyone sharing stories, helping one another and enjoying plenty of laughs along the way, and we loved watching our residents’ creativity come alive and seeing new friendships and special memories being made. ❤️

Thank you to all the families who joined us, we can’t wait for our next creative afternoon! 🌸✨

Our residents at Colton Close have discovered a new favourite activity: Drum Therapy! 🎶

Better Place has been bringing the joy of music and dance therapy to our community, and we’re delighted to now welcome Drum Therapy to the program.

Led by the wonderful Maddy, our residents are tapping, drumming, moving and, most importantly, having lots of fun, as they discover that sometimes the best thing about making music is making memories.❤️

The response has been so fantastic that we already have a list of future musicians eager to get their hands on the drums. 🥁👏

🏆🏉 What a fantastic way to wrap up another year of our Footy Tipping Competition at The Views, as our residents came together for a special Winners’ Award and Certificate Ceremony. There were plenty of smiles and proud moments as we recognised our successful tipsters, as well as some good-humoured team rivalry banter.

This year, we have two joint winners: congratulations to Verna and Jack, who both finished in 1st place! 🥇🥇

The celebrations continued with fantastic live entertainment that had everyone tapping their toes, singing along and enjoying the afternoon. To finish off a wonderful day, residents gathered together for a delicious BBQ in the beautiful sunshine.

A big congratulations to all our residents who took part, and especially to Verna and Jack, our 2026 Footy Tipping champions! 🏆👏

Recently at St Pauls Terrace, we celebrated a fantastic milestone as our wonderful resident Merle turned 102! 💐

Merle celebrated surrounded by staff, family and fellow residents, making it a beautiful day filled with smiles, love and plenty of happy memories. When asked how she has stayed so fit and healthy over the years, Merle had a simple answer: all the housework!

What an incredible milestone and an amazing life to celebrate. Happy 102nd birthday, Merle, we hope the day was as special as you are! ❤️

We had a wonderful morning at The Views celebrating R U OK? Day, with plenty of opportunities for our staff and residents to connect, chat and support one another.

Our management team organised some lovely treats and activities for staff, including a complimentary drink voucher from Chocolate Lilies Café, a delicious staff BBQ and sweet refreshments in the staff room. 💛

Our Lifestyle team also organised a special R U OK? information session for our residents, followed by beautifully decorated cupcakes for morning tea and a BBQ lunch enjoyed together.

It was a warm and enjoyable day filled with conversation, connection and plenty of smiles. 💛

R U OK? Day is a great reminder that a simple “Are you OK?” can open the door to an important conversation.💛

What a wonderful Father’s Day celebration at Colton Close!

This week, our residents and their families came together for an afternoon filled with great entertainment, delicious food, drinks, laughter and plenty of special moments.

It was truly heartwarming, and at times emotional, to see so many families come through our doors to spend time with and support their loved ones. These connections mean so much to our residents and are at the heart of what makes our community special.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make Father’s Day such a memorable occasion. 💙

Recently at Bridgewater Lake, staff and residents came together to celebrate Indian Independence Day, enjoying wonderful festivities filled with colour, culture and community! ❤️

The celebration began with a delicious Indian-themed lunch, followed by a spectacular dance performance by our staff, who looked beautiful in traditional cultural dress.

It was a fantastic day filled with joy, vibrant energy and shared traditions, giving everyone the opportunity to experience and celebrate the rich culture of India together. Thank you to everyone who made the day so memorable!
