The celebration began with a delicious Indian-themed lunch, followed by a spectacular dance performance by our staff, who looked beautiful in traditional cultural dress.

It was a fantastic day filled with joy, vibrant energy and shared traditions, giving everyone the opportunity to experience and celebrate the rich culture of India together. Thank you to everyone who made the day so memorable!

Recently, Bridgewater Lake residential aged care home residents enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of crafting as they created their very own passports and boarding passes in preparation for our upcoming armchair “Around the World” cruise! 🛳️

In October, we’ll be virtually travelling to London, Turkey and Hawaii, discovering the sights, sounds and culture of each destination.

The crafting activity sparked some beautiful conversations, with residents reminiscing about their own holidays, cruises and favourite travel memories. There were lots of stories, laughter and shared experiences along the way! We can’t wait to set sail on our virtual adventure! 🌎✨

Meet Joy, one of our much-loved residents at Colton Close, who plays a very special role in our Pen Pal Program. Working alongside our Lifestyle Team, Joy helps keep the mailing list up to date and makes sure every letter finds its way to the right resident.

Our Pen Pal Program connects Colton Close residents with Year 7 students from a local school, giving both generations the chance to share stories, ask questions and learn about each other’s lives. Some of our residents also add their own special touch by sending along colourful artwork and creations from our craft activities.

It’s a wonderful program that brings people together across generations and gives residents with all kinds of interests and abilities a chance to take part. There’s always a sense of anticipation when the latest letters arrive, and plenty of smiles when they’re opened!

A huge thank you to Joy for helping make this special connection possible. We’re so lucky to have you! 💕📮

Father’s Day is all about celebrating the special dads, grandads and father figures in our lives, and residents and staff at Colton Close have been busy creating something extra special to mark the occasion.

Together, they came together and hand-painted and decorated beautiful picture frames, ready to be gifted and filled with treasured memories. 🖼️✨

There was so much creativity, conversation and laughter along the way, with every frame made with love and a personal touch. The results? Heartfelt handmade gifts that will be cherished long after Father’s Day has passed. 💙

There were some delicious aromas floating through The Views last week as we celebrated Indian Independence Day with a special Taste of India cooking experience.

Our wonderful in-house chef, Sonia, took our residents on a culinary journey, demonstrating how to make soft, delicious naan bread from scratch, paired with tasty Indian condiments and a fragrant chicken curry.

But it wasn't just about the food. The feast soon became a place for sharing stories and memories, with our residents chatting about their favourite Indian dishes, restaurants and experiences.

A huge thank you to Sonia for sharing her love of Indian cuisine and bringing such wonderful flavours and energy to our celebration.❤️

💙 Last Friday we celebrated Aged Care Employee Day by recognising the incredible people who make a difference in the lives of older Australians every single day!

Aged Care Employee Day is an opportunity to thank our dedicated team for the compassion, care and commitment they bring to our community. Their work goes far beyond providing care; they create connection, bring happiness and cheer, and enrich the lives of those we are privileged to support.

To celebrate, we invited members of our community to help us say a heartfelt thank you to our outstanding team.

🎥 Join us in celebrating our amazing aged care employees by watching our video below. Thank you for everything you do! 💙

Recently at St Paul's Terrace, residents took part in a special "Get to Know Me" session, drawing on the understanding that everyone has a lifetime of experiences, achievements and memories that make them who they are.

Residents proudly held signs reading "I once was a...", sharing the careers and roles they held before joining our community. From these simple words came wonderful conversations, personal memories and fascinating stories.

It was a powerful reminder that our residents are so much more than the care they receive. They are teachers, tradespeople, parents, business owners, nurses, artists and storytellers, each with a lifetime of experiences, achievements and wisdom to share.

Because at the heart of aged care is getting to know the person behind the story. ❤️ We all have a story, and we feel privileged to hear theirs.

To mark International Friendship Day, we're celebrating the wonderful connections that make our community feel like home. 💙

At St Laurence Court, one resident's idea has grown into something truly special. After Jules suggested starting a Yahtzee Club, Retirement Living Coordinator Uvonne helped bring the vision to life, creating a regular space where residents could come together over a shared love of the game. 🎲

What started as a weekly game has become so much more. Yahtzee Club has sparked new friendships, plenty of laughter, and a strong sense of belonging. Whether it's celebrating birthdays and special milestones or discovering new hobbies together, we believe it's never too late to make a new friend.

➡️ View the photos to see what residents say the Yahtzee Club means to them and how these weekly gatherings have enriched their lives.
