This year marks 20 years since James Macready-Bryan was brutally assaulted on his twentieth birthday, resulting in an acquired brain injury (ABI) that left him totally incapacitated and requiring permanent full-time residential care.
Over the years we have seen large numbers of runners/walkers participate in the festival wearing the distinctive JMB light blue singlet.
In 2026, and on the eve of James’ 40th birthday, we are targeting a record number of JMB entrants. With the support of the event organisers, IMG, the Foundation has been able to arrange priority entries for JMB runners/walkers. This means that even though many events are already sold out, JMB runners/walkers will still be able to gain an entry! The arrangement requires the Foundation to submit names, email addresses, and the desired event (eg, full-marathon, half-marathon, 10k, 5k) by 2 March. Once these details have been submitted, IMG will email individuals with details on how to enter and pay their entry fee. All participants entered under the JMB name will receive our custom light blue JMB running shirt from the Foundation.
Leave us a message below nominating your preferred event, or email [email protected]. Note that slots are filling fast!!
So over to you. Let’s turn the Marathon festival into a sea of light blue on October 11!
