We are inviting individuals and churches to get behind them. Would you partner with them in ministry through your gifts and prayers?

Scott Pilgrim our Exectutive Director writes: "In Cambodia, after many years of conflict, there is still much healing to be done. Many marginalised communities continue to be impacted by structural and family violence, poverty, deforestation and other human rights abuses. But change is happening through innovative organisations like Peace Bridges Organization - អង្គការស្ពានសន្តិភាព training individuals, families and local communities in peacebuilding, conflict resolution, advocacy and care for the planet.

It was great to be with the Rostrevor Baptist Church community in Adelaide on Sunday launching a new partnership with Baptist Mission Australia focused on supporting Peace Bridges’ effective grassroots work in Cambodia. Thanks Ben and James for your warm welcome today and cheering on this new collaborative initiative.

RBC’s theme this month is 'Beyond Us!'. I like that! The reminder that churches need to keep looking beyond their own needs, and moving beyond comfort zones, to serve others across the street and around the world.

Jesus says: “Blessed are the peacemakers”. In our fractured, divided world there is so much good churches can do in initiating and supporting peacemaking initiatives."

What do we owe Myanmar?

Tim Costello has written an excellent reflection paper exploring this question and highlighting Australian Baptist's relationship with Myanmar over many decades. He writes that we owe our voice, giving, partnership and unity.

Along with other Baptist agencies, Baptist Mission Australia has endorsed this paper. And all are invited to strengthen it's message by endorsing it.

You can read and endorse the paper here:

Use your skills to work with Language of the Heart in Cambodia. This is a life transforming ministry that supports children with disabilities, working with them and their families so they can more full participate in their communities.

We are seeking someone with experience working in the disability sector (ideally speech pathology or occupational therapy). The role includes overseeing the program, supporting and training staff to ensure quality service provision, and building relationships with staff and families.

Find out more information here: www.baptistmissionaustralia.org/opportunity/disability-ministry/

We see God’s Spirit at work though Language of the Heart and welcome conversations and discernment as we explore creative partnership possibilities.

Geoff Maddock from our National Team was recently one of the facilitators of a mission training event in Malaysia. Here are some of the incredible photos he took.

Goeff writes: "My visit to Penang was full of conversations that stretched my thinking and deepened my hope. It was a wonderful example of a training collaboration between Baptist Mission Society (UK & India), Baptist Mission Australia and the Malaysia Baptist Theological Seminary. Sitting with emerging leaders from different cultures and vocations, I was reminded again that mission begins with paying attention - showing up, listening well and being shaped by one another as we follow Jesus into loving mission together."

Hey Samson! What's love look like... when you are playing sport?

As followers of Jesus, we are called to imitate Jesus' heart in all areas of life. In our work and our relationships, how we spend our money and even how we behave when we play sport! What does this look like for you?

Elliot Keane, Baptist Mission Australia's First Nation's Engagement Facilitator writes: "There is a place near Wentworth where the Darling River (the Barka) and the Murray River meet. The Barka is a clay-based river and contrasts with the colour of the Murray River as the waters start to mix together. If you are passing through, make some time to take it in. It is a special place to stand and wonder.

The two rivers have no choice as they mix together. But we do. We can take steps towards our Indigenous neighbours and friends. But we can also choose to stand still or even move away from Indigenous Peoples.

This National Reconciliation Week and beyond - what would it look like for you to move towards by listening, learning and living with compassionate action?"
