😢💔 11 YEARS OLD, PARTIALLY BLIND & ABANDONED AT A BUS STOP💔😢

❌🚨URGENT home needed! 11 years old and he is in a NSW Pound. Rescue Hub are urgently trying to find a home for him🚨❌️

On the 21st of May, 11 year old gorgeous Cyclone was discovered with his lead nailed to a bus stop 😡 This precious boy touched the hearts of most that saw the post about him.

Partially blind with eye, skin, ear and potentially many other issues he was left there to fend for himself, scared and alone. It is thought that he was sitting there for up to 6hrs before the very kind hearted people
rescued him and took him to a vet. Imagine how many others passed by him and did nothing.

Despite Rescue Hub's attempts to intervene, and be able to foster him under duty of care to avoid him ending up in the pound, he was still taken to the pound ☹️ It’s no place for a dog in this condition, he should be in a home. He is receiving care in the clinic and is very fond of the vet. Rescue Hub can now attempt to find him a new, suitable home. They would like to get him out of the pound ASAP‼️

Rescue Hub have said he is an adorable, very sweet senior boy that has had a very tough time. It is unknown how long he has had to endure these health issues, but they should be able to be treated and resolved.

Initially, wary given he is in an unfamiliar place with everything he’s ever known now lost, but he warms up quickly and his tail is wagging again.

Cyclone will require vet work to get back to the healthy dog he should be but this will all be covered by Rescue Hub. They are raising funds on their post (see link below) if you would like to donate towards his vet care.

‼️URGENT!! THIS CAT HAS BEEN PURPOSELY TRAPPED BY SOMEONE IN THEIR YARD‼️

** LOCATION SOUTH ST MARYS NSW **

The cat was supposedly harassing the persons birds in their aviary so they have now trapped the cat. The cat unfortunately isn't microchipped.

No idea what they plan to do with this cat or where they are now keeping it. The group Admin is asking for rescue groups to step up and take it but the shelters and rescues are already overflowing with cats and kittens.

The person who trapped the cat needs to firstly door knock their surrounding neighbours, or letter box drop, put up some flyers and post on multiple lost and found pages/groups to try and find the owner, if there is an owner.

It's concerning when people trap cats on their property as you never know the outcome especially if they don't like cats.

😢💔 I'M 9 YEARS OLD & NOT ONE PERSON HAS ASKED TO MEET ME 💔😢

My name is Max and I'm BARC's oldest doggie. I will be 9 years old in August.

And somehow… I have found myself in an animal shelter.

My family didn't come looking for me. No one came to take me home. Since arriving here, I have had not one SINGLE meet and greet. Not one! Now I am the second longest term dog in the shelter.

Every single day, people walk through our kennels and stop to admire the younger dogs. The fluffier dogs. The “more desirable” dogs. They look at the dogs on either side of me … but never stop to look at me 😢

Every day I watch other dogs leave while I stay behind, curled up on my bed with my ball, waiting for someone to notice me too.

But nobody does 💔

Do you remember Sir Walter? He received an outpouring of love, attention and support — and BARC are so grateful for that but I deserve that same chance. I deserve people sharing my face. Asking about me. Coming to meet me. Caring that I even exist.

Because right now, it feels like the world has forgotten me.

And despite everything, I am is still so full of love ❤️

I am a friendly old man who is absolutely obsessed with my toys and tennis balls. I still get excited, still get jumpy, still have those little bursts of joy that remind you there’s a playful dog hidden inside this old soul.

I would suit an adults/teenagers only home, and while I may potentially do well with the right dog, I would probably be just as happy soaking up all the love on my own for once in my life.

I know I'm older.
I know I'm not flashy.
I know people scroll past senior dogs every single day.

But please… don’t scroll past me too.

I have spent enough time being invisible.

My name is Mark and I MUST find a home by Friday 15th May. I came into the pound with deep lacerations around my neck as my previous owner tied me up with wire 😢

Notes from Rescue Hub:

This beautiful boy is in a NSW pound and sadly we do not have space at our rescue kennels. He needs a home or rescue ASAP.

The shelter is VERY concerned about his welfare in this environment. He has been in the pound for 3 months.

Mark’s story is a sad one and he is in desperate need of a loving home and someone to show him that not all humans are cruel. He came into the pound with a deep laceration on his neck after being tied up with a wire at his former home. He has likely never known an environment where he feels safe, wanted and loved.

He is a sweet, affectionate and friendly boy. He is mostly calm but can be jumpy at times when playing with his toys. He has recently started to become frustrated in the pound environment and this has put him on the critical list 😔

Mark will need a home where he can decompress, feel loved and safe and benefit from being able to be given the time and training that a safe, stable home offers. He will need a confident & experienced owner due to his size, and a dedicated family to show him what love and commitment is.

‼️STARVED & BEATEN TO DEATH‼️

Brutus was severely emaciated and was bashed to death. His remains were found by authorities.

The man was fined ONLY $4000 for this cruelty, and banned from having animals for just 10 years.

A penalty of $4000 is pathetic and does nothing to deter extreme acts of abuse like this. I believe we are at a point now where we need to consider sentencing guidelines for courts or mandatory minimums for animal abuse.

Animal cruelty cases are on the rise- and slap on the wrist penalties are part of the problem. Drastic changes are needed to stop extreme animal abuse cases like this.

Rescue Hub Sydney Dog Rescue are very sad, and absolutely heartbroken to advise that they have reached a point that they just cannot rescue any more dogs and they are just TWO WEEKS away from CLOSING completely! 🚨

They have saved more dogs than ever this past year, & whilst they are so very proud of this achievement, unfortunately many of the dogs they have saved, have required extensive vet work, life saving procedures and care, and with no space at the rescue kennels, they have been forced to use board and train facilities to save so many dogs that would have otherwise been killed.

Rescue Hub save the dogs NO-ONE else will. They save the dogs that are considered reactive, or deemed aggressive by the pound, the ones that need training and cannot be rehomed without being rescued first, and the ones no one can get near due to their fear, but they spend time building a rapport. There is not a dog that they wouldn’t fight for!

Rescue Hub have also saved dogs that the pound will only release to them if they go to specialised training first which costs a minimum of $5900 for just one dog!

As a rescue that believes all dogs are worthy of a home, they cannot say "no"! They cannot turn down a request to help a dog they know is going to die, when they know their life is worth living, and of saving. Who else is going to be their voice! Their hearts are huge, but their bank balance is not.

The expenses initially expected and budgeted for have been so much more than anticipated over the past year, with costs that they just could never have predicted.

Without funds, they just cannot continue. They do mini fundraisers occasionally for individual dogs vet bills, and whilst they appreciate the support so very much, they never raise even half of the costs.

Rescue Hub received NO animal welfare grants this year or last, and the rescue is funded by donations & fundraising alone. Their adoption fees are low and for a healthy dog with no issues, the adoption fee does not even cover half of the cost of its vet work which must be completed prior to adoption.

🔴 Some of the large expenses they have had JUST FOR THE PAST MONTH include the following:

- Electricity (3 months) $2205
- Rent $3800 per month
- Board and Train fees for 6 dogs - $16240.00 Yes, that is sixteen thousand two hundred and forty dollars for just one month. The dogs are often in board and train for months waiting for a home.
- 11 year old Blaze’s eye surgery $3235
- Charger’s CT scan & other investigations $1890
- 11 year old Lexie’s infection, toe amputation, multiple sedations to have her dressing changed $2700 & this is still rising
- 3 dogs vet boarding & desexing for Keira, Belle and Nina $1197
- Border Collie x Puppies Boarding 4 x11 days, and 2 x 2 days $2352 plus Vaccination, microchipping, Heart worm test, and treatment for Hook worm which all pups were positive for when rescued $1004

They still have unpaid bills of approximately $10000 and are yet to receive invoices totaling more than $5000 for:

- Emergency vet consults and treatment for 2 dogs over Easter &
- Cattle dog Wombat’s training

Rescue Hub have funds in the bank to cover just two more weeks expenses of rent and board and train fees. They have nowhere to put the dogs in board & train and no emergency funds to cover any unexpected expenses.

They have been hit so hard and reached the limit. They really need your help 🙏 They don't like to ask but there is sadly NO OTHER WAY for them to keep going.

Rescue Hub have over 60 dogs in their care - at the rescue, in foster homes and in board and train facilities. If they don’t get their bank balance up, and cover our outstanding bills of approximately $15000, they simply cannot save any more dogs and will need to close their doors‼️

Please help if you can, every dollar donated goes towards the dogs that no one else wanted to help.

There are so many more dogs that need them too and they are devastated to not be in a position to be able to help them.

Rescue Hub"s mission is to be able to save as many dog’s on death row that they can. They just can’t let them down!!

I came into the pound with my two little babies that I loved and cared for dearly. I was so scared my babies would be killed but a local rescue saved them. I'm so grateful they saved my babies but weren't I worthy of being saved as well? I know I'm not little and cute but I'm still only young myself at 12 months of age.

I've been told I'm a sweet and gentle dog with basic manners but now I can be killed at anytime. I haven't done anything wrong in my short life so why do I deserve to die? I'm hoping someone will see that I'm worthy of a loving home and a wonderful life.
