Animal Welfare League NSW™ (AWL NSW) is a registered charity that has been operating for more than 60 years. We provide care to surrendered, neglected and abandoned companion animals across New South Wales. Hawkesbury Valley Branch is just one of the AWL NSW branches located across NSW, managed and operated by local community volunteers. We do not have an animal shelter and all of our animals are fostered in private homes. Appointments can be made to meet any of our animals Monday to Saturday. Please be aware that we are all volunteers and as such have other commitments on our time. If we do not answer the phone immediately, please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as we can. With the support of Animal Welfare League NSW we offer subsidised desexing for pets. You can enquiry about eligibility by calling 0492 125 163. Note: As volunteers we cannot perform investigations. Suspected cases of cruelty or neglect can be reported to the Inspectors by emailing [email protected] or phoning 02 8899 3333. All reports are confidential.

Well that was a cracker of a day at our Vaccination and Microchipping clinic. These days would not be possible without the volunteers who fundraise and the people who donate to the branch. A big thank you to our vets, David and Howard, who generously volunteer their time and expertise to see your furry friends. Thank you to our volunteers today, both with the clinic and the shop, great job.

We saw some fabulous pets today come along, they were very well behaved and their parents even behaved. Thank you everyone for your patience!

We successfully:

Implanted 30 microchips - meaning if anything happens they can be reunited with their owners.

Vaccinated 40 cats.
Vaccinated 46 dogs.

In total we saw 88 cats and dogs through the door today. Our biggest and best clinic day yet!

🐾 Meet little Maverick – a tiny fighter with a big future ahead of him! 💙

Maverick arrived in our care just one week ago after being found by a member of the public. Sadly, we weren’t able to reunite him with his mum, so this little boy began his journey in the world without her.

Weighing just over 100 grams when he arrived, Maverick was incredibly tiny. But look at him now! 🥹 In just seven days, he has almost doubled his weight and has even opened his eyes to take in the world around him. 💕

While he seems healthy at the moment, caring for kittens this young is always a little nerve-racking. Things can change very quickly, and every day brings new challenges as we watch over these precious little lives.

But Maverick seems to have a real fighting spirit, and that gives us hope. 🤞❤️

We’re taking things one day at a time, celebrating every gram gained and every little milestone along the way.

We would love it if our page followers could share Maverick's journey to make sure he finds the best possible home when the time is right.🐾💙
