🌿 Celebrating Our Cultural Guides at Ikara-Wilpena 🌿

We are incredibly proud of the amazing progress our Cultural Guides—Dickson, Donald, and Shaunaya—are making on their journey 🌟

Dickson and Donald have recently stepped up to lead their own tours and have received some fantastic feedback, which was kindly shared with us by Wadna—an awesome achievement! 👏

Dickson has now also successfully delivered a tour on his own, and Shaunaya is preparing to take her very first solo tour in the coming weeks—so exciting!

Dickson and Shaunaya are also working together to deliver our Welcome to Country experience, continuing to grow in confidence, cultural knowledge, and storytelling every day.

A huge thank you to the incredible Adnyamathanha guide Iteka, who has been spending time with us here at Ikara Wilpena. Iteka has taken time away from her family business, Bookabee Australia, to support and mentor our guides—helping to share culture with both our team and our guests. We are so grateful for your generosity and knowledge 🙏

Another big thank you to Kristian, Gabby, and Izzy from Wadna, who have also been providing ongoing training and support. Along with myself, we all feel extremely privileged to listen, learn, and be part of this journey.

Planning is also well underway for NAIDOC Week, and we’re excited to bring it to life here at beautiful Ikara Wilpena—celebrating and sharing Adnyamathanha culture with our community and visitors.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out about joining our team here at Ikara Wilpena—we’re so grateful for the interest in being part of this special place on Adnyamathanha Country.

At the moment, all of our positions have been filled.

Well, Summer has definitely arrived in the North Flinders! With a whole week of 40‑degree days ahead, I hope you mob are keeping cool and looking after yourselves.

I just want to take a moment to thank all you mob who have liked, shared, and supported this page. The interest we’ve had in jobs out here at Ikara/Wilpena has been incredible, and that’s only been possible because this community has shared the word far and wide. We really appreciate it.

We’ve got some First Nations mob starting with us very soon, with more coming on in the next few weeks. I’ve also been yarning with a bunch of young people who are keen to learn more about work out here on Country.

It’s been deadly seeing so much interest from First Nations applicants — but we still need more mob to come onboard. Right now, we’ve got three roles we’re hoping to fill as soon as possible:

Cultural Tour Guide / Trainee Cultural Tour Guide
(Adnyamathanha Identified Role – for local mob wanting to share culture and Country)
Apprentice Chef
(First Nations Identified Role)
Food & Beverage Attendant
