Belinda and the Walk & Talk group headed out to explore Lorna's Triangle Bushland Reserve yesterday. It was a beautiful sunny winter’s day, perfect for discovering this amazing patch of remnant bushland. While some of the terrain was a little challenging at times, it was well worth the effort. We enjoyed wandering through the scrub, taking in the natural beauty, and appreciating the peaceful surroundings.
We look forward to seeing you next Thursday at 1:00 pm!

We had a fun day in the garden today! A few weeks ago we composted and rested three veggie beds, and today they were ready for planting. Belinda and Jac planted cabbage, spinach and spring onions, while Belinda also harvested some of her favourite snow peas along with a handful of mini capsicums that will be put to good use in our lunches. The team also spent time weeding several garden beds, including our garlic patch. A big thank you to Kev and Adam for making sure all the veggie beds and the compost received a much-needed drink.

Great teamwork all round. See you next Wednesday at 11am!

It was windy and chilly in the garden yesterday, but after a couple of rain-affected weeks, we were keen to make up for lost time!
We did have a minor setback when we discovered our broccoli seedlings had become a feast for some very hungry caterpillars. After removing the pests, Jackie and Jo got stuck into weeding the veggie beds while the team prepared two smaller beds for planting.
Thanks to a generous donation from Mel, we planted fresh basil and oregano, along with some leeks. Michele, Jackie and Jo also cleared out the lettuce and rocket that had gone to seed, chopping it up for the compost bin. The beds were then replenished with homemade compost and horse manure, ready for the next round of planting.
A big thank you to everyone who braved the weather and helped keep our veggie garden thriving! See you next Wednesday at 11am

Kindred Clubhouse proudly supports National Reconciliation Week 2026 and this year’s theme, All In. ”Reconciliation is not something that happens from the sidelines. It requires all of us to listen, learn, reflect and take meaningful action every day.”

We have also learnt about National Sorry Day this week, which recognises and acknowledges the truth of Australia’s Stolen Generations history and the ongoing intergenerational impacts caused by past policies of forced removal.

At Kindred Clubhouse, we recognise the importance of creating a community built on inclusion, respect, connection and understanding, while acknowledging the strength, culture and ongoing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. ❤️🖤💛

Stories That Move Us 📸✨

We’re so excited to bring this beautiful project to life thanks to the support of the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council Grant Program.

“Stories That Move Us” celebrates connection, community, resilience and the power of sharing lived experiences through photography and storytelling.

The sessions have been incredibly well attended, with so many meaningful conversations, connections and stories already emerging through the project.

Thank you to Mornington Peninsula Shire for supporting initiatives that strengthen mental health, belonging and community connection across our region.

We can’t wait to continue sharing these stories with you.

Yesterday’s excursion took us to Daangean (Devilbend) in Tuerong on the Mornington Peninsula, part of the Aboriginal cultural landscape of the traditional Country of the Bunurong People.
We set off along the Reservoir Circuit Track towards Daangean Point, taking in the peaceful surroundings and listening out for the abundant birdlife the reserve is known for. Along the way, we enjoyed the beautiful native bushland while catching up and chatting about what everyone has been up to lately.
At Daangean Point, we stopped to admire the wildlife on the water, including the majestic Black Swan. On the return journey, we followed the Shoreline Track, pausing on the bridges to look for Rainbow and Brown Trout in the crystal clear water.
Before finishing our 6km walk, we found a park bench to relax and refuel with some snacks. It’s such a beautiful part of the Peninsula and a place we’ve all come to appreciate.
A big congratulations and thank you to the volunteer groups who continue to maintain and revegetate the area.

It was a beautiful day to head out for a Walk and Talk adventure. Belinda chose Stony Point for today’s outing and it truly was spectacular. After stopping to say hello to the resting pelicans, we wandered down to the end of the pier searching for fish and birdlife along the way. We also met a keen angler who shared the story of the fish that got away today!
Join us next Thursday at 1pm for our next Walk and Talk.

From little things, big things grow
Today in the garden, Kevin and Adam planted our carrot and cabbage seedlings. There’s something so rewarding about getting your hands dirty and planting what will soon become our winter veggies for the kitchen.
A big thank you as well to Mel for giving the veggie patch a much needed soak.
See you next week at 11am for more fun in Kindred Clubhouse’s veggie garden!

We managed to dodge the rain for most of our Walk and Talk, although we did get caught in a downpour on the way back! Today we walked from Fred Smith Reserve to the old Somerville Cold Store compressor site. Even though it was a little chilly, everyone enjoyed getting outdoors, exercising, and having a good chat along the way. We also stopped for a photo at the blue tree, which is part of the Blue Tree Project, a mental health awareness campaign that began in Western Australia. 💙 The bright blue colour is designed to spark curiosity and encourage conversations around mental health and wellbeing.

A great way to stay active, connected, and support an important message. See you next Thursday at 1pm.
