Did you know your school or community group could plant more trees, create cooler outdoor spaces and connect young people to Country — all at the same time? Across Perth and Peel, the Let’s Grow program is supporting schools and community groups to create leafy, resilient neighbourhoods with a strong focus on tree planting and long-term impact.

Imagine shadier playgrounds, thriving bush tucker gardens, habitat for birds and pollinators, and students getting their hands in the soil while learning about sustainability and Noongar cultural knowledge. This is urban greening in action — practical, powerful and community led.

At Tucker Bush, we’ve visited more than 150 WA schools, planted over 3,000 native food plants and trees, and engaged 10,000+ students in meaningful cultural learning experiences. A bush tucker garden isn’t just planting — it’s a living classroom, a reconciliation action, a climate solution and a way to bring your whole community together. If your school or group has been thinking about a bushfood classroom, micro forest, native food garden or transforming hot paved spaces into something cool and green, now is the time. Let’s grow cool, resilient and leafy neighbourhoods!
