What's happening in Hartley this September...

Sat 12th - Hartley Long Lunch (see pinned post)
Sun 13th- Hartley Coffee and Cars is on at Hartley House Cafe from 9am
Sun 20th - Collits Inn has free live music from 12.30-3pm
Spring is the perfect time to visit and stroll around the historic village and explore all that Hartley has to offer. The The Postmistress Cafe and Store has music in the garden on sunny Sundays too.

Our local school Mount Victoria Public School is taking new enrolments now, ready for their Kindergarten Transition program starting next Term!

Our FANTASTIC 4 week KINDERGARTEN TRANSTION PROGRAM, starts next Term! 🤩

If you haven't yet enrolled your child, now is the time to do so, ready to join our successful transition program. It is designed to inform our new families while enabling our new Kindergarten students to familiarise themselves with their new surroundings and make new friends. Sessions are just 1 hour, meeting in the office foyer at 9am. 😊

Week 1 - Wednesday 21st October, is our TREASURE HUNT, where students and parents get to explore all that MVPS has to offer.
Week 2 - Wednesday 28th October, is all about the love of literacy and how to help your child on their journey, with a take home pack
Week 3 - Wednesday 4th November, we chat about numeracy, sharing some tips and games for you to take home.
Week 4 - Wednesday 11th November, is our informative session where you may ask any questions not answered. Our new students received a special Transition Pack to take home. Morning tea provided.

GREAT NEWS FOR FAMILIES AFFECTED BY THE CLOSURE OF THE PASS

Trish Doyle - UPDATE: Victoria Pass

Families affected by the ongoing closure of the Great Western Highway at Victoria Pass will receive additional support through a temporary amendment of the School Drive Subsidy Scheme.

The Scheme is in place to help families cover some of the costs of driving children to school when public transport isn’t available.

The NSW Government will provide a targeted, temporary amendment to the School Drive Subsidy Scheme to assist families whose school journeys have been significantly disrupted by the closure of Victoria Pass and who are facing increased travel times and costs.

The assistance will be back dated to the start of the closure, from 8 March 2026, until the road reopens. This means eligible families will be able to apply retrospectively, with payments covering the period since the closure began.

This measure recognises the significant and unique impact the Victoria Pass closure has had on a number of families and is aimed at reducing transport disadvantage for students whose journeys to and from school have been substantially affected.on this since 7am!!

Parents, carers and particularly our students have struggled while dealing with the impacts of the Victoria Pass closure. It's been a genuine challenge for these families and their schools, so this amended subsidy will be a welcome bit of relief.

The School Drive Subsidy is administered by Transport for NSW and is available to NSW residents in areas where there is no public transport, to drive an eligible student all or part of the way to school.

What's on in August...
A bit late with this one but we all know Hartley Coffee and Cars is the 2nd Sunday of the month and Collits Inn has their chilled free music event on Sunday 30th Aug.
Alchemy Woodfired Pizza has pizza under the stars Friday 14th too.

Plus coming next month is the HDPA annual long lunch on 12th Sept, tickets on sale now!
