🔥HARRINGTON & CROWDY BAY RESIDENTS!!🔥

Fire permits are now required BEFORE undertaking burning activities. 🔥🚒

🔥 FIRE PERMITS NOW REQUIRED 🔥

From today, Fire Permits are now required before undertaking burning activities within the Bush Fire Danger Period - Mid Coast and Port Macquarie Hastings LGAs.

If you’re planning to burn, remember:

- Obtain your permit before lighting up
- Notify the RFS and adjoining neighbours at least 24 hours before you light up
- Check weather conditions and the Fire Danger Rating
- Ensure you have adequate firefighting equipment and supervision over the burn
🚫 Never burn during a Total Fire Ban
📞 If your fire escapes, call Triple Zero (000) immediately

Fire permits are free and help ensure burning is carried out safely to protect our community.

🔥Bushfire season is approaching, and now is the time to sit down and go through your bushfire survival plan.🔥

Did you know that it only takes as little as 5 minutes to create your plan online?

There are simple things you can do around your home to prepare it for a bush fire, like keeping the grass low and having a cleared area around your home.

🔥FINAL REMINDER, HAZARD REDUCTION BURN TOMORROW!🔥

Tomorrow, members from Harrington and Johns River will be carrying out a planned hazard reduction burn.

🔥 You may see smoke in the area throughout the day, so please don’t be alarmed. These burns are an important part of reducing fuel loads and helping protect our communities ahead of the bush fire season.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while crews are working.

Thank you for supporting your local volunteers, but remember, please give our crews plenty of space if you’re travelling near Crowdy Road.🚨🧑🏽‍🚒

CROWDY HEAD RESIDENTS!

This Sunday 2nd August, Harrington brigade along side Johns River will be conducting a hazard reduction at a property on Crowdy Road! 🔥

As the prescribed burn will generate smoke, hot embers and heat, it is important that you consider the following;
🪟 Keep all doors and windows closed to prevent smoke entering homes; and
🚗 If you are driving a vehicle, slow down and keep windows up.

Should any further information be required, please contact the RFS Mid Coast Office on
1300 643 262 between 9am and 4:30pm weekdays!
