National Volunteer Week 2026 is being celebrated across Australia from 18–24 May with the theme “Your Year to Volunteer.”

This year’s campaign recognises the many different ways people contribute to their communities and aligns with the 2026 United Nations International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development.

Rotarians proudly join with volunteers everywhere in acknowledging the incredible impact volunteers make every day — supporting community projects, helping those in need, building connections and creating positive change.

Many of our members wear many hats, volunteering not only through Rotary but also with numerous local organisations and community groups. Thank you to all volunteers for the time, care and dedication you give to make our communities stronger. 💙💛

As our Domestic Violence Awareness coffee cup project officially comes to an end, we want to sincerely thank every café, volunteer, business and community member who helped make it possible.

Thousands of cups were shared across our community, helping spark important conversations about domestic violence awareness — at home, at work and over coffee with friends.

While the project is wrapping up, some cafés will continue using the cups until their supply runs out, meaning the conversations and awareness will continue a little longer throughout our community.

May is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, but the message does not end here. Awareness, support and community connection matter every day.

Thank you for standing with us and helping create a community where people feel seen, supported and heard. 💜

Thanks to Java Jive Mobile Coffee Van Hamilton for spreading the message at a number of events across our community.
Also to the other cafes who shared posts on line.

Are You Safe at Home? Day – 11th May

If you’re worried someone you know might be experiencing family violence, it can be hard to know what to do. But you don’t need to be an expert. By just asking, listening and believing, you can make a huge difference.

Future doctors share their rural healthcare journey.

It was a pleasure to hear from two medical students Jacob and Sherry, currently on placement in Hamilton at our recent Rotary meeting. Both shared their journeys into medicine along with valuable insights into rural healthcare, the importance of patient connections, and the challenges facing regional communities. We thank them for their honesty, enthusiasm, and commitment to the future of healthcare in rural Australia

Rotary’s Coffee Cup Campaign is on the move! ☕💛

Coffee cups carrying the message “Say Yes to Respectful Relationships” are now being delivered to participating cafés across our district ahead of May’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Our local coffee shops are facing challenging times, so we encourage everyone to support these wonderful businesses while helping spread this important community message—one cup at a time.
