💊 The Two Worlds of Pharmacy

Rotary members enjoyed an informative presentation from Scott Savage , who shared his experience as a Director of Pharmacy in rural, metropolitan and international settings.

Scott explained the very different roles of community and hospital pharmacists and gave us a fascinating insight into hospital pharmacy, including intensive care, oncology and emergency care.

He also compared the health systems of Australia and England and shared his experience assisting with patients following the London bombings.

Scott left us with five important reminders, including the importance of keeping an up-to-date list of all your medications.

A fascinating presentation that certainly gave us a greater appreciation of the many important roles pharmacists play. 💙

Yesterday I had the pleasure of visiting my first Rotary club in Bali. It was an English-speaking club with members from many different nationalities, making for a truly international Rotary experience.

It was wonderful to enjoy the fellowship, hear about the club and experience the warm hospitality that Rotary is known for around the world. No matter where you travel, the Rotary motto Service Above Self brings people together.

Thank you for making me feel so welcome. It’s a reminder that Rotary really is a global family.

Respect Lives Here 💜

Despite the cold and wet conditions, Rotary Hamilton’s Domestic Violence Awareness Round at Melville Oval delivered an important message to players, officials and spectators alike.

Working in partnership with the Hamilton Kangaroos Football Netball Club, Rotary Hamilton promoted the message “Respect Lives Here”, encouraging respectful relationships both on and off the field.

Our large purple selfie frame was a popular feature throughout the day, helping spread the message and prompting many supporters to stop, take a photo and show their commitment to respect.

The awareness campaign began before match day when Rotary Hamilton’s Kevin Safe addressed the Kangaroos players after training on Thursday night, speaking about the importance of respect and the role everyone can play in preventing family and domestic violence.

Rotary Hamilton thanks the Hamilton Kangaroos, Portland Football Netball Club, volunteers and everyone who supported the initiative. While the weather was challenging, the message remained strong — Respect Lives Here.

Celebrating Changeover and Looking Ahead

Hamilton Rotary members, partners and guests gathered to celebrate our annual Changeover Dinner, reflecting on another successful year of service and welcoming our new leadership team for 2026–27.

We thank outgoing President Bob Cadden for his dedication, leadership and commitment throughout the past year. Under Bob's guidance, the club continued to make a positive impact through community projects, fundraising activities and our ongoing Campaign Against Domestic Violence.

We warmly welcome President Meg Watson, who shared an inspiring vision for a more visible, connected and vibrant Rotary club. Meg encouraged members to continue building strong community connections and ensuring Rotary Hamilton is no longer "the best kept secret in town".

The evening also included the presentation of four Paul Harris Fellow awards to Kevin Safe, Peter Irvin, Noel Howard and Rose Howard, recognising their outstanding service and commitment to Rotary and our community.

Thank you to everyone who contributes their time, energy and enthusiasm. Together, we look forward to another year of Service Above Self.
