What a day viewing the diversity of the grasslands of the Victorian Volcanic Plains ... in the most changeable spring weather we have seen in some time! ☀️ 🌧️ 🌬️
Yesterday Prof John Morgan and the CMA VVP team of Aggie and Ben hosted a trip around some of our most endangered plant hotspots when they are putting on an amazing display.
In what was a big highlight for Ben, who has visited many times without the success of finding and seeing one, we found a Diuris orchid in full bloom (image 1).
The tour also spotted Bulbine lilies (image 2), feather heads (image 3) and the sweet smelling chocolate lilies (image 4) and also visited key populations of Button Wrinklewort and Hoary Sunray.
Stay tuned for the videos from they day where Prof. Morgan explains the significance of the grasslands and the threatened species that grow on them
